I asked that earlier and I got a negative response but no answers. I wasn't meaning it to be rude although I don't see why it would be perceived that way. I think it's a legitimate question. Regarding your own beliefs, what would/could you argue about if you don't believe anything except that lack of a god/higher being, of which you all agree on.

Dodger's Mom- Someone asked why atheists are more civil when they argue w/ each other as opposed to other group. I asked my question and got a negative response but no answers. I cosidered politics, economy, etc. to be seperate from religious topics. I was under the impression that religiously the olny question was the"god question" of which they all agree. As for the questions challenging, be my guest. Fortunately my religion encourages me to think for myself unlike most. I'm not Christian btw.

Alucard- I said why are so many atheists "on here" so cocky and that I understood that not all are, but most questions I look at I see many atheists condemning peopl and calling them stupid for have a faith. Either way I see faith as something no one can prove or disprove.

My point was that, if you consider politics, economic, social/cultural issues to be seperate from the anything relating to a higher being of some sort, then what could you possible argue about regarding that subject when you all agree that there is none.

There is no problem with a philosophy of live and let live. We like statements like "don't tread on me". Respect my rights and I will respect yours. That is why atheist would have far less wars.

We could debate the best moral value system in absence of a deity or traditional religious doctrine.
We could argue about the best form of government or how to approach world hunger, poverty, and irrational cultural or religious beliefs (especially in Islamic countries).
We could argue about things that increase our understanding of the universe, like how many stars may harbor intelligent life, or the various ways that the universe may end in the very distant future.
In short, we could argue about anything that is relevant to the human condition. I think this is better than arguing about Bible stories or what a deity wants us to do, because one can't prove a thing and what good would it do for humanity?
Added: to respond to asker's later question:
"My point was that, if you consider politics, economic, social/cultural issues to be separate from the anything relating to a higher being of some sort, then what could you possible argue about regarding that subject when you all agree that there is none."
All issues related to the human condition have been affected by religion at some point or another, so it may come into our debate, even if we don't believe in a god. Also, why should atheists avoid arguing? Arguing implies that we are debating the finer points of something, and that's fine in any group, religious or nonreligious. We don't have to be of the same position on any unrelated issue.

I would wonder what athiests could give christians to replace what they believe. Can athiests offer eternal life where things are just perfect..can athiests offer up a way that christians can be forgiven for things they do wrong and allow them a totally clean slate..no records kept......can athiests offer christians a way to get perfect peace..to be able to talk to someone and that someone be able to do the impossible for us..and the list goes on and on and on...or is it that athiests can only offer us the here and the now..the raping and pillaging of the earth and the skies and waterways that are way beyond science and humanity being able to fix..and that is a proven fact..or it would have been done way before this earth was so wrecked. Please offer us something better to entice us away from God.....I know you cannot..therefore leave us be and keep to your own thoughts and leave us to ours....if yours was so good you would be not putting us down and calling us stupid, you would be caring about us and honestly trying to show us why being an athiest offers more hope than we have.....faith and hope..can athiests give us a better deal?

I do not brain debating (an educational and impersonal dialogue of a discipline) and even optimistic war of words (resolving a quandary among folks in a confident and respectful dialogue), however I certain dislike being criticized, insulted and blamed, that's what such a lot folks imply by means of "argue".

The only thing that atheists (by definition) agree on is a lack of belief in a god or gods. Apart from that, atheists are as different from one another as one believer is from another.

I'm a little unsure what you are asking, so my answer not address you actual question.
I can argue why all the other beliefs out there make no sense to me - why I fail to believe them. I could also argue why you shouldn't believe certain parts of your belief system.
Does that get at your question?

I didn't see your question the first time around, so I'm not really sure what you're talking about. What would we argue about in regards to what subject? Are you asking us to make an argument backing our beliefs? If so, I will gladly do that if you can make an argument backing your beliefs without saying that the bible says so!

There are plenty of divisions in atheism. There's strong atheism, weak atheism, activist atheism, militant atheism, etc.
Examples of controversial questions:
Should atheists work to remove God from coins, pledge, ect, or does this simply add to atheism's negative image?
Should atheists express their beliefs public and encourage others to renounce religion?
Should atheists practice buddhism?

I feel no need to argue about my beliefs. However, I do not think atheism is a religion. Religions require belief. Atheism requires science and logic.
