Is it because Nisan 14 is coming up and JWs are one of the very few Christian groups to recognize and observe it on the day it is suppose to be observed?

Is it because it is the one day that near every witness comes together, along with many of their non-witness friends? So many that many congregations have to hold the observances in high school auditoriums, like where my mother lives in Corning, Ca?

Or, is it because the Independent PBS film is being shown soon, and even though it has been available for review since last September, the anti-JW group have not been able to find an “independent” film crew willing to do a opposition video?

Like the Noah and how he built his own boat and collected millions of species in one week. Makes no sense. Can you think of other instances like this that seem to be illogical or too incredible?

This just came to me, and I am not sure where to post this. But, given I mainly answer in this section, I am interested what others in this section think.

I just answered a question. By the time I answered, my answer was placed on the second page of answers. Do you read all the answers you receive to a question? The reason I am asking is, I wonder if there is any correlation between how close your answer is to the first answers and whether or not your answer gets picked as best answer. When I saw how many answers were before mine, and even though I felt my answer was a very good one, I figured being so far down the list, it likely will not get picked.

I wonder if there is any truth to that? Why this thought popped into my head, who knows.

Seriously, the Biblical God kills THOUSANDS of innocent people; the first born sons of Egypt, all of the innocent people in S.&G. with sulfur (I'm sure someone will tell me that all of the people in those cities were guilty of sin....but come on, they were cities, they had to have new born children in them), etc etc.

So how can someone truly believe in an all powerful, all knowing God that kills innocent people that he supposedly created?????

-Am I alone in feeling that this is COMPELTELY illogical?

With the taxi-cab drivers refusing to pick up blind people using the help of guide-dogs in Minnesota on the bases of their religion, sales clerks not touching pork products and refusing to ring them up on the basis of their religion, could this type of madness spread to America?

Recently I have been feeling very lonely and busy (weird combo!). I have talked to some of my friends about it and they say that it's because I'm single, but I kinda like being single just because you don't have to worry about any unnecessary drama. Could this be true? Lately I have been feeling very down on myself...I look in the mirror and find all the negative things about me... this makes me realize that sometimes your biggest enemy is yourself. It's weird because I happen to be one of the popular pretty girls at my school but for some reason I don't see what everyone else sees. So, what's the problem? Is this really just because I'm single?

A co-worker gave me a rough draft of a book he is helping edit for a woman. This woman claims to have had contact with "Saint Teresa of Avila", and the book has such claims as, you don't have to be Christian to know God, etc. (By the way, I am a bible believing Christian and not only believe that the only way to God is by His son....but the book of Deut., chapter 18:11, also says it is detestable to God to attempt to communicate with the dead). I want to give this book back to my friend and talk to him about my beliefs, but I don't want to come off superior, heavy handed or "I'm right and you're wrong". This question is really for believers....I want to stand for what I believe to be true without coming off as arrogant. May I please have your opinions on how you might handle this? Thank you so much.

The woman who have birth to my sister and I was given custody of us both by a godless court system. My father saved our souls and enabled us to be raised in our wonderful church by fleeing with us to Venezuela. But this has now found us and is demanding our return. She is a loose and godless woman and shall lead us astray. How can we make the court system which betrayed us before that we cannot possibly go back to that sinful life and leave our beloved and sainted father?

oh please come on!
we CANNOT treat religion as science!
religion is man-made...all those scriptures are the work of some imagination
science has proof...n rationale

religion is NOT FOR FANATICS....we believe in a religion should only mean that we believe in its moral codes.....why do we TAKE EVERYTHING SO LITERALLY????

DONT WE REALISE THAT SCIENCE CANNOT BE WRONG?.........RELIGION HAS ITS LIMITS!!

If Protestants all have the Holy Spirit to make their interpretation of the Bible infallible, then they should all agree on their interpretation when compared to one another.

So, to test this, here are a few questions for Protestants of all denominations.

When giving an answer, please indicate which Protestant congregation or tradition u belong to (i.e. Baptist, 7th Day Adventist, Lutheran, etc.), and tell if u believe that u have the Holy Spirit to guide u in the truth):

a) Is abortion a sin?

b) Is homosexual sex a sin?

c) Is human cloning a sin?

God is not a god of confusion but the God of truth.

How can anyone see if u don't shine ur light? As christians we are supposed, to let everyone know the truth. When are we going to say that we have had enough? Do u not think it is time for the church to step up and let the world know we're different?

Should we not take up our crosses, and go on this journey rather than sit by the wayside and rust away. He died for us, so the least we can do is give Him all of our life.

He lives, He lives and yet we tend to ignore that, we live our lives as though it never happened. We are being conformed to the world, is it not time we be different? And let them know we are Christians?

As Mullen says, When I call on Jesus mountains are moveable. We should be testifying about His love, and not standing by watching....

I want to be on the front lines, how about you?

(not an actual war, for those who do not understand)

When are we going to draw the line, and step out?

Subject: Boyles Law

The following is an actual question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid-term. The answer by one student was so "profound" that the professor shared it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well :

Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic
(absorbs heat)?

Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law
(gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant.

One student, however, wrote the following:

First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different religions that exist in the world today. Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand pro proportionately as souls are added.

This gives two possibilities:

1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.

2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.

So which is it?

There is a prophetic statement told by prophet Muhammad where he told his companions that they would not be considered faithful Muslims unless they LOVE him more than what they love their sons and their parents.

I was a little surprised when I read that statement.

(1) Does love come by feelings or by orders and warnings?

(2) Is there similar quotes from Moses to Jews or from Jesus to Christians?
