There is a prophetic statement told by prophet Muhammad where he told his companions that they would not be considered faithful Muslims unless they LOVE him more than what they love their sons and their parents.
I was a little surprised when I read that statement.
(1) Does love come by feelings or by orders and warnings?
(2) Is there similar quotes from Moses to Jews or from Jesus to Christians?

well last time i answerd a q. about the islam faith base purely on facts and not because i have anything against Isalm, which i dont, i got a very rude email.
But i can answer ur Q about the Moses question and the answer is No, Moses never orderd people to love him, and many people didnt.
Jesus told people to love God more than themselves and any other people. God comes first in my life, but that does not mean i neglect my family. But God does not make us choose between him and our families.
He cares about us. A time when i would have to choose between God and my family is if following what my famliy does, for example, would go against what God wants/go agains God's morals.

Show your proof.
Even if he didn't order us, we would love him anyways.
My father loves god and the prophets more than me, I love god and the prophets more than my father, same with my mother.
most muslims are like that.
Thats one difference between us and you, You love yourselves the most, we love god and the prophets, the most.
God and the prophets come before everything even family.
