Is it because Nisan 14 is coming up and JWs are one of the very few Christian groups to recognize and observe it on the day it is suppose to be observed?

Is it because it is the one day that near every witness comes together, along with many of their non-witness friends? So many that many congregations have to hold the observances in high school auditoriums, like where my mother lives in Corning, Ca?

Or, is it because the Independent PBS film is being shown soon, and even though it has been available for review since last September, the anti-JW group have not been able to find an “independent” film crew willing to do a opposition video?

Is a question "hateful" because it calls for a truthful answer? Is a question "hateful" because it comes from a source of knowledge and/or experience?
Jehovah's witnesses live in a cloistered environment where all their "truth" comes from their leadership and they are not allowed to quesiton. In fact, a quick visit to their official website will show they are not supposed to be in discussion groups either, because they just might run into someone who is "immoral" for not agreeing with everything they say.
They are a sad little group of leftover Millerites who don't understand how many times their "faithful and discreet slave" has led them astray. Even those who've been around decades enough to have seen the false prophecies and the flipflops disguised as "new truth" are blinded by repetition and drilling of the indoctrination.
No. It's not because Nisan 14 is coming up and they are going to meet to continue their aggrandizement of their "remant" of the 144,000 and their motley leadership. It's because that leadership is truly a false prophet and they are too close to the problem to see it.
The unexamined life is not worth living.

I don't hate JW's but nor will I allow them to come to my door and abuse MY belief and that's just what they do. My last encounter was with a little old white lady and a black lady. The little old white lady never would tell me what exactly she was trying tell me. I told her I believed in Christ but that didn't satisfy her. She went on, and on about nothing, finally I got rather ticked off so they handed me a copy of the "watchtower" and I tried to hand them a copy of a little brochure about becoming a Christian and the little white lady, hollered at me that, it was of the devil - NOW, this is why most Christians of any belief, any denomination, Bapt. Catholic or any do not like for them to come to their door. I will NOT talk to one unless I get to talk first - Does this answer your question? Whatever it is you are reading is WRONG - try just reading the Bible - I guarantee if it's read with an open heart, your eyes will be opened to many things.

JW's are one of the most disliked christian religions on the planet. Which was one the of the reasons I now think that they are probably the only true christians out there. I say probably cause I don't know ALL the christians religions. Of those that I know they are the only ones who observe Christs Death in a simple respectful manner in the way that Jesus told them to. Here in Greece, Easter means fighting amongst the Orthodox churches. They have firework displays and spend thousands of euros, just so more people can come to Their particular church and thus leave more money in the box. JW's here are ridiculed openly and priests have threatened people (sometimes physically) not to even talk to them at all. I see a humble people, who do not glorify war in anyway, do not get brainwashed by patriotism, and are good and kind in all their ways. They really stand out here, in a place that is full of religious politics.
I'm atttending 14th Nisan this year for second time.

True Saints understand persecution in the name of the Lord, is inevitable, and prophecy being fulfilled. Thus, they will not feel the need to publically prove what they have endured.

Hateful comments are mediocre, in comparison to what will soon take place for those who preach God's Word. If one lacks the spiritual fortitude to withstand mere comments, He or she is functioning within their own power, and not through that of the Holy Spirit. We are instruments of the Lord.

Having said that: Most comments(not all), Jehovah Witnesses consider "hateful", are often loving, but firm, correction by Saints who detect error with their teachings. Unfortunately, due to weakness of the flesh, it is human nature to resist that correction. Thus, debate, rebuttal, etc takes place.

False teaching is a sin, and Children of God are called to expose this sin without hesitancy or fear!!!

2 Peter 2:1 - But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. Blessings, Miji

JWs intentionally draw attention to themselves so they can later cry they're more persecuted than others. In their minds this is some type of twisted proof they're God's chosen people or righteous. They also push and promote their beliefs so that its impossible to miss them, just as you're doing with this PBS film. When you're loud, obnoxious, and searching for attention you'll get it. So stop complaining about the very thing you're attracting. There is a difference in being persecuted for God, and persecuted because you instigate and look for disagreement. I rarely respond to JW's or their supporters directly, and this will be my last one. It's pointless and a waste of time.

It is true that Jehovah's Witnesses are not loved by everyone.
http://jw-media.org/newsroom/human_rights.htm
Some people hate Jehovah's Witnesses out of ignorance, or over some misunderstanding. A few may have had a bad personal experience with an individual who claimed to be a Jehovah's Witness, and prejudicially extended their animus to this entire Christian religion.

However, it seems that the majority of anti-Witness hatred is motivated by religious intolerance and bigotry. A few may even be motivated against their Christian worship by the unseen 'god of this system of things', Satan the Devil.

(2 Corinthians 4:4) the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers

Interestingly, such "hatred" should be expected by true Christians in this time of the end, and it actually helps identify Jehovah's Witnesses as Christ's true disciples:

(John 15:19) If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.

(Luke 6:22) Happy are you whenever men hate you, and whenever they exclude you and reproach you and cast out your name as wicked for the sake of the Son of man.

(1 Peter 4:4) Because you do not continue running with them in this course to the same low sink of debauchery, they are puzzled and go on speaking abusively of you.

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

It seems signficant that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are the ones best known for their worldwide preaching work. Yet Jesus commanded that ALL who would call themselves "Christian" perform this public work:

(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.

The fact JW's argue and preach all that is wrong in the bible is amazing to me. The cross being a symbol of shame, which if you have ever read history, especially Roman history you would know, the cross was not the punishment meant only for Jesus, and the Cross was not the only symbol used by the Pagans. There are many issues, that anger Christians, the fact that a religion practiced, believed and worshiped is now the subject of controversy because JW's, think they are right. No I am sorry, and in all the years I have never seen a Christian go door to door preaching and trying to sell the bible, and the importance of all Christians to join their practice. If we are the same Christian, stop trying make my faith look bad.

Opposition, whatever the reason is Opposition.

It doesn't bother us much really as Christ experienced it, Paul also had many trials and was left for dead.

Nisan 14 is a wonderful date in the history of mankind if only ones would do the research to see what has and what will be accomplished in the future because of the selfless act of obedience on the part of Christ the King.

"Keep this mental attitude in YOU that was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, although he was existing in God’s form, gave no consideration to a seizure, namely, that he should be equal to God. 7 No, but he emptied himself and took a slave’s form and came to be in the likeness of men. 8 More than that, when he found himself in fashion as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient as far as death, yes, death on a torture stake. 9 For this very reason also God exalted him to a superior position and kindly gave him the name that is above every [other] name, 10 so that in the name of Jesus every knee should bend of those in heaven and those on earth and those under the ground, 11 and every tongue should openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father." -Philippians 2:5-11

Looking forward to seeing the PBS film as I haven't heard of it yet...thanks for the info.

You know, all I can think when I read some of these hateful questions and answers, about Jehovah's Witnesses is the council given by Jesus...

John 15:18 & 19: "If the world hates YOU, YOU know that it has hated me before it hated YOU. 19 If YOU were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because YOU are no part of the world, but I have chosen YOU out of the world, on this account the world hates YOU."

Matthew 5:11 & 12: "“Happy are YOU when people reproach YOU and persecute YOU and lyingly say every sort of wicked thing against YOU for my sake. 12 Rejoice and leap for joy, since YOUR reward is great in the heavens; for in that way they persecuted the prophets prior to YOU."
