Like the Noah and how he built his own boat and collected millions of species in one week. Makes no sense. Can you think of other instances like this that seem to be illogical or too incredible?

Nicholas: You assume there was the same number of species back in that day as there are today. The number might have been substantially less in that era, which invalidates your theory.

Again, Nicholas: You are assuming that this "rain" was a physical function performed by mother nature. The bible claims that it was an act of God, and God can, if He wants to, flood the earth with water.

Nicholas: Your theories only work when the assumption is that the bible was written by people. I asked for inconsistencies in the bible, which assumes that God exists and wrote it.

Evolution did occur, and it does not contradict the bible at all. The bible claims that God built and destroyed numerous worlds. That's why there are still dinosour fossils around. For example, when God flooded the earth, that was one example of an annihilation followed by a rejuvenation.

Nicholas: It is possible if you believe a God was responsible for it. That will explain anything that sounds incredible to your human mind. Your manichean view is based on one thing, that God does not exist. In order to answer my question, you must assume that God exists, and then find inconsistencies in the bible. That will show the bible is false, since God would not contradict himself.

Nicholas: You are too intent on finding evidence against the bible. You should broaden your horizons and try to find evidence for the opposing side too. There is a lot of archaelogical evidence that supports the bible. And anyway, I have heard there is a theory that Noah's ark is somewhere in Turkey...

Tattman: All I said is that you can not use your atheistic view to attack the bible. If you want to prove it false, you must assume the bible is true, and then find inconsistencies within it that might invalidate it. For instance, you may say "why did the Jewish people complain that they had no food in the desert and that they wanted to go back to Egypt. After all, wouldn't they trust the God that just recently split the sea for them and took them out of Egypt?" That makes sense to ask. But it doesn't make sense to ask "how did God make the earth flood?" because God can do anything.

Hmmm, some illogical aspects of the Bible? You can start with " In the beginning" and end with "I warn everyone who hears the prophetic words in this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book,
and if anyone takes away from the words in this prophetic book, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city described in this book"
That should just about cover all the illogical parts

There are no illogical aspects in any Bible stories. The ones who argue this has never read it and are non- believers. Some arguments about Noah's Ark: It never rained on earth prior to the flood. A mist came out of the ground to supply water. The earth was totally different than it is today. That's why they find plant fossils in the antarctic. Read ALL of Genesis VERY carefully and slowly to find out. Noah lived over 900 years. That's a long time to be able to construct a wooden Ark with the help of his 3 sons. Noah didn't take every animal on the ark. He took two of it's own kind. 2 dogs, not 2 beagles, 2 Labradors, etc. etc. That's not evolution, but select breeding that eventually got Labradors and Beagles from the 2 dogs from the ark. And yes, he probably had dinosaurs on the ark also.

30 million in one week actually, that translates to 99 animals per SECOND. Also, consider how rain is formed. Rain comes from bodies of water on the Earth. Even if it rained for 100 years, the world would not flood. People that wrote the bible didn't understand this. They simply thought water fell from the sky. But water is drawn UP from the Earth, so no matter how long it rained, there is NO WAY the world could flood. The world's oceans would not even rise ONE INCH.

Even if you combined every single zoologist and every single ship builder in the world, they would not be able to collect 2 of every species and build a boat large enough to house them all even if you gave them 50 years....

but surely someone will come along and say, "It doesn't have to make sense, God performed a miracle to make it happen"...yea, right!

You do understand that by admitting that there were fewer species back then, you are admitting that evolution exists right? Or, are you going to sit there and tell me that God is constantly dropping new species on the Earth?

As for your last update, have you even been reading my post at all? It was COMPLETELY impossible that a world wide flood that covered all of the Earth's land mass ever took place.

No, it is NOT possible, it is completely illogical. You are honestly sitting there telling me that I should believe in something that you have NO evidence for. If there was evidence for a world wide flood (which there isn't), then we would have something to talk about. But by your logic, I can simply say that you should believe in the tooth fairy and santa since you can not prove that they do not exist.

Given the comments after the question, you really didn't want an honest answer. It is impossible for those of us who do not believe in god to "suppose" that he does, and wrote the bible.

The flood story and creation are the number one inconsistencies in the bible. But, you replied that "god could flood the world if he wanted to", or something to that effect. Then, given that statement, you obviously don't believe there are any inconsistencies. Anything that is not scientifically possible in the bible was accomplished because god can do anything.

Why ask if you don't want honest answers?

Here's a question. How did Moses get lost for forty years between Egypt and the promise land? Where did they go? It isn't that far. And, where is there "wilderness" between Egypt and Israel?

Here's another one. If Moses "transcribed" the Torah as god dictated it to him, why are there different writing styles throughout the books? Why is the creation covered twice, told differently each time, in a different style? Why would god tell him the story twice, covering it differently each time?

Making the sun stand still wouldn't make a day any longer.

From Joshua chapter 10:
12Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.
13And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.

It says that he gathered two of every animal from "his world, " as in the area he lived in, just as the "world" was flooded, it was his wolrd. If you want to take it from a Jewish perspective, we actually believe that that story wasn't mean to be taken literally, as with most stories in the Torah. I recommend the Talmud for explanations. That's why it was written. Does that help with the confusion?

You forgot another great 'illogical aspect'....
the ratio of Noah's arc is the same as modern day ocean liners. How could this be?..Kid!
