no, Buddha was a big humongous man (who looked like that little guy off austin powers), and said he knew the "four truths of the world.'

Yes, I was just trying to be funny, so ignore this if you are a Buddhist, and I am sorry if I offended you.
I just don't get why such a nice person would be declared God just because he was nice.

Um, what? I have no idea what your basis for calling him a big baby is, and really don't see a question, so, whatever! You obviously haven't been enlightened yet.
Edit:
No offense taken! But Buddah was not a God. He is often mistakengly referred to as "the God of Buddhism" but there is no God in Buddhism. Technically, there were many Buddah's. His is just the first recorded tale of Buddhism.

Buddha was not a baby. He simply saw suffering in the world and wanted to do something about it. So he was empathetic, a decent person actually. He was big because he realized that eating was not a sin, that it was a simple joy of life. Personally I find your question an offense to Buddhism.

If you did then your question makes no sense. Are you implying that he thought life was tough and that is why he proclaimed that to live is to suffer? If you truly mean this then you are way off with Buddhism.
