Thanks for the honest answers--it was a sincere question. I really do not like offending others.

To Nicholas--A. Mercer--Jackie--Chippy N.--Scorpio--and 'me'...............No, I wouldn't be offended either. Like you, it wouldn't affect me.

PsychoGr.....It was a sincere question. No need to be rude.

RuneAmok.....Got it, good answer.

Depends on who says it and how.

Sincere and calm, not trying to shove it down my throat, eh, no biggie. Faith's important to some people.

Aggressive and shoving it down my throat (ie: telling me I'm going to hell 'nicely'), then yeah.

Nope. In fact, its a nice calling-card. I know immediately the intellectual level I can expect...and, for those xtians out there who may not understand what the words I'm forming into sentences mean, I mean a pretty low level.

Whether or not the person stays that level is still an open question, but it gives a good starting point.

To paraphrase for the xtians:
No. Me not offended. Me find you foolish.

Not at all. I'm offended when the people saying Jesus loves me try to harrass me into believing he's my savior. There's nothing offensive about the statement, more often the way the stater follows it up.

In my case, as a Wiccan, it nearly always includes the statements "Do you like worshipping the Devil" as well as "Save your soul from hell" and other such nonsense.

I'm not at all, I just get annoyed at other things. What I don't like is when they r knocking down your door with pamphlets or preaching on the street etc...To me it should be like underwear. It's nobody's business n no one should try n push religion of any kind upon anyone.I'm pretty sure that every person know's what a church is n wants to be whatever religion then they no where to go.No one tells u what underwear to wear cuz they don't know what u have on n when some one asks me my religion I tell them that's my buisness n u need to mind yours.

No.

Why would I care whether someone thinks a dead person loves me? It's like being offended if someone says "bless you" when I sneeze. Or Santa in the mall wishing me Merry Christmas.

I am an Atheist, not a fool. I realize that where I live (in the US) the majority of people I encounter will be christians of varying degrees of commitment. I can live with that.

Now when they want to explain their faith to me, I get annoyed.

I'm not really offended, but I'd prefer to see "God loves you," because of inclusive reasons. If you say "God loves you" or something similar you also include Christian groups that don't completely believe in the holy trinity, Jews, and Muslims.

I'm not offended, I'm amused. The only Jesus I know is Hispanic and he mows the lawns at my apartment complex. And I can actually offer you proof that he exists. Of course, there isn't a REALLY old book that a bunch of guys got together and wrote about him talking about his powers and how he came back to life and stuff before returning to his home in the clouds, but I see him often. Are you offended that your religion makes me and many other Atheists laugh our rear ends off when you say things like, "Jesus loves you?" I bet it does. Thanks for the laugh, kiddo.

No. It does make me feel weird, though. I mean, I want to respect the person that told me that. I know that they believe that, and I know it means a lot to them, that they mean it as a supportive thing, etc. But I don't necessarily believe in Jesus, so I'm left feeling good that they care about me, but unsure how to respond to the Jesus part of it.

Yes. I am seriously and deeply offended by any overt display of religious delusional behaviour whether it be Jehovah's Witnesses incessantly knocking at my door or Muslim lunatics crashing planes into the Twin Towers. Just go away and get real guys!

Not really because a lot of religions have Jesus as one of their prophets so if some one Jesus loves me I would thank them lol .
The more love in this world the better!

To give you an idea; would you be offended if I said Santa and the Easter Bunny love you? I don't see a difference other than names.
