My friend (who is Islamic) is needing help to answer her son (who is still Christian) about the prophecy in Jonah, and then the fulfillment as Jesus could not have been in the tomb 3 full days and nights if He were crucified on Thursday.

Blessings, Gypsy Queen

No ridiculous answers from non-believers.

[ Opening note: Religious nutters need not apply. Christians and muslims posting here should prepare to be ridiculed. ]

So.... to those of you considering yourself at least roughly "athiest"..... how many of you are merely that: "athiest"... and how many are genuinely antitheistic?

What it really comes down to is whether you don't consider the god notion (nor its people) to be of any consequence to you because it is false.... OR .... whether, like I do, you consider the effects of theism to be genuinely harmful to humanity and the individuals that comprise it.

Religions kill reason in their followers... giving them a set of rote rules to violate as they will as opposed to exercising their own judgement. This allows them to theoretically justify acts that any rational person would consider truly ridiculous simply through the exploitation of loopholes. They constantly hold back utilitarian scientific advancement with their warped "morality".

So tell us where you stand.

If you do a google search on evolution, Wikipedia is the first UNSPONSORED site listed.

It's explanation is excellent.

Why do the fundies skip past it?

I directed one there last night, and his next question had a link to some obscure anti-evolution foundie site.

Why are they hiding from reading quality material?

as the bible was written by so many different people, they could have all been of there faces on drugs yes it sounds ridiculous right? but substaces were around in those days and they would not know what it was so..they would like the feeling and carry on doing or taking what ever they had found! so hilusinations as such does seem like a possible solution to some of the things written in the bible as we all know some of the events that was said to happen would never in this life ever occur ..unless you are off your head on drugs!

According to many believers, he at some stage decided to do a heck of a lot of creating. That would have taken a lot of time and effort. Did he just have that one little burst of creativity, or is he still creating somewhere else?

I sent the catholic church an email over 2 years ago requesting that I be excommunicated as I am now an atheist and have been for a long time.

I've had no reply.

Why won't they accept my wish to be excommunicated?

I'm sure if I'd sent a request to join up I would've got a reply.

Whether we find ourselfs in Alaska, New york winter, or the dessert, we need clothing to protect us.

Without proper clothing we will definately freeze to death in cold temperatures and/or our skin will burn in hot temperatures.

Even in tropical islands, without proper use of skin care products we will eventually get some sort of skin cancer from the sun. Even Black people cover their skin with sheets from the sun in Africa.

Why haven't humans evolved with more protective skin layers?

I wonder. Well, really I don't wonder, because I know Evolution is a lie and the biggest scientific fraud in history. I wonder how Evolutions got so popular, well, I really don't wonder at all either, I look at the world events and chaotic conditions of our society and understand fully that people will do anything to delete a God out of their lifes.

I keep seeing questions along the lines of "Shouldn't public schools teach evolution AND creation rather than being biased towards evolution?".

You see, to me this is a flawed statement. If you are biased towards evolution you are basically biased towards modern science (not the "evolution religion" that people keep pretending it to be) and in modern schools that teach modern science (as opposed to outdated science) surely a bias towards modern science is preferred?

On top of this, if a school were to teach Creation as an alternative then surely this would be a bias towards a religion and therefore be unconstitutional, no? And, if a school were to be unbiased in any way, would they have to say that all information they teach as an absolute fact (including Maths, History, etc) may be disputed and other alternatives may exist.

What are your opinions? Please, no answers along the lines of "evolution is a lie and shouldn't be allowed in public schools!" Thanks.

to tell them some important thing about your trust and faith in the Bible - what would you tell them?

Your audience might include atheists, non - christians, people who believe in different gods etc. These guys happen to be with you under the same roof - and you have all their attention, will their status distract you? In short, present yourself and your God and your Bible to them.
