No, but certain aspects of religious belief are. For instance, there is a great deal of very strong evidence that supports evolutionary theory, but none that supports the young Earth theory. So it is possible to have faith that God exists, but rather difficult to accept scientific principles and the idea that God created the Earth is 7 days (as described in Genesis)..

Many of the founders of science were not only religious, but often Priests or Monks.

Back prior to 1700 the ony way you got an education was if you were a Royal, lived in a wealthy Mercantile family or went into religion full time. The rank and file population was largely uneducated and Religion help bring education to the masses long before Secular teachers appeared with public schools.

The first two college of Arts and Science in America were founded by the clergy. Harvard and Yale

Well, good practice in science is not to accept an idea without evidence. Extraordinary claims need extraordinary evidence and all that.
Since there isn't strong evidence supporting god's existence, it would be good scientific practice to reject the idea.
Therefore they are mutually exclusive.

Well, science is a tool of the devil. So use that as you will.

The only science a person needs is in the New Testament. This is why I'd like to see scientists put in prison for heresy.

No. There are great many scientists who are deeply spiritual. For example 'Einstein' and Oppenheimer. Scientists are human beings only and they have got their own faith in God and scriptures. In India lot of scientists worship God regularly and read religious scriptures daily and attend temples and festivals of God frequently.

That depends on whether you think "God" is intelligent or that "God" is the god created by the men who wrote the bible.
