We'd have to look up the information to tell you that, and there's nothing we can't tell you that you can't look up for yourself. We also couldn't possibly explain it all clearly in a forum like Yahoo Answers, and you know it. That's ridiculous to demand that we do that and then insinuate that failure to do so is somehow evidence that the entire scientific theory that is accepted by tens of thousands of scientists all over the world is wrong. It's CERTAINLY nothing resembling proof that the fundamentalist Christian notion is the correct one. Stop being lazy and look it up yourself.

I agree with moocowcow. You desperately need some proper education. Also, you need to understand that throwing out insults will only result in insults - from some. However, some of us are older than 14 and are more mature. How old are you?
If you are genuinely interested in how the earth was formed, you really should read more. The church will not provide the answer. The bible will not provide the answer. The Simpsons will not provide the answer. The answer is available and Carl Sagan's Cosmos is a good starting point. I can also recommend Bill Bryson's "A short answer to almost everything".
Incidentally, the earth is STILL forming. Volcanoes and earthquakes and continental drift demonstrate so. Yellowstone Park shows you so and could be the next major natural disaster when it blows - any time now. Stand well back.
Are you not aware that the contents of the universe are expanding away into the distance. As it is expanding then, at some earlier time, it MUST have expanded from a common source of that expansion. With me so far? Try thinking of the Big Bang theory at this point.
Super-heated blobs, primarily in liquidised form scattered wide. The laws of physics determine that such blobs would eventually settle into a globular form, much as soap bubbles do when you blow them ... still do that?
This planet, just like every other, then, is a ball. It was super-hot at one time and is still super-hot inside. It is still cooling down and has a long way to go before it does. When it does, the earth will change in many ways ... do plan not to be around when that happens. Slightly risky on the survival rate.
OK, that should be enough for an empty brain to absorb. Hope it wasn't too painful and, when the swelling goes down, do come back for more realistic answers to sensible questions. We would be happy to help you adjust to reality in gentle steps.
Incidentally, 'fundie' atheists? Again, this is demonstrative of child-like ignorance. Open your mind. Let reality in.

So you slap an insult and then say "I'm asking a question please don't insult me". Stop being a wussy.

Well the best model we have based on real life is that vast amounts of dust in space were caught in the sun's gravity and swirled around and after time the dust had grouped into over 100 protoplanets, now the protoplanets kept crashing into each other creating larger planets and debris. Now that debris was asteroids and comets and after the Earth had settled down it gravity along with the sun's caused comets to crash bringing water to Earth and from there is was just nature doing what it does best

...why are you asking the "fundie atheists"? Not all of us are astrophysicists, you know. Perhaps you should be asking this question in the science section, where you'll more than likely get a detailed and concise answer.

Or, you could be incredulous and just say "God did it". That's the easy answer to everything, right?

Why do Christians assume that atheists know everything?

I am an Atheist and that doesn't automatically mean I have all the answer, in fact i feel it says more leaning towards the opposite of that we don't know! With all do respect i have no problem at all with you believing in what ever you choose to believe in that is your business. Just want you to know not all Atheists are arrogant and think they have all the answers.

I don't know how the Universe formed, but earth was formed by dusts, minor planet and billions aerolites.
yes, the recent science can't answer all the questions, but we're still researching, we don't jump to conclusion all make up stories...we're not like christians.

It is impossible to be a fundie atheist. We don't have and book that we have to take literally. All that you can say for sure is we don't believe in any god.

The formation of the Earth is a pretty long topic, but here are a few links to science pages that explain it.

Hello Matt, Are you a believer in Jesus Christ?
If you are then I am greatly confused by then tenor of your questions.
You may believe you are "justified" by some of the awful things people say about Jesus and Christians... but believers are not to be surprised or even particularly wounded by it.
But we ourselves are not supposed to retaliate.
Recall Jesus did not cry out against His persecutors.
For God's glory, be peaceful please.
It is really hard for me to imagine a non-Christian being anti-evolutionist. But the tone and the anger and the meanness of you questions beg this response.
Are you in this for yourself or are you in here for Him?
