Casting spells is a very small part of the religion of Wicca, and it is not necessary to that religion. Just as singing in a choir would be a small part of following the religion of Christianity (and it is not necessary). Just because people may choose to sing in groups does not mean that they are practicing the religion of Christianity. Just because people may choose to cast a spell does not mean that they are practicing the religion of Wicca. One does not need to be religious at all to cast a spell. Spell-casting is a practice, not a religion. The main purpose of most religions is to worship/honor deity(s). One does not need to worship a deity to cast a spell.
A Wiccan follows the religion of Wicca. If you are not following the religion of Wicca, you are not Wiccan. Many other neo-pagan religions cast spells too. But again, if you are not worshiping their deities and following their religious doctrines, then you aren't following their religion either. You would simply be practicing the art of casting spells. Not all religions embrace the practice of casting spells though. If you are a Christian, your religious doctrines probably prohibit the practice of spell-casting. Your clergy can explain to you how your denomination feels about it and whether or not your specific denomination would still accept you as a Christian if you were to practice magic.

By definition, a "Christian" would not believe in any supernatural power other than that of the one God. They could pray and even perform ritual acts, but would not believe that what they were doing was actually affecting anything by itself. It's all up to God.
The idea of a "spell" is the use of supernatural power for personal ends, either directly or through the work of spiritual intermediaries. The concept is not compatible with Christian theology. Such "powers" would not exist and the "spell" would be mere superstition.
However, prayer is an attempt to communicate with, even influence God, and there are some general parallels between prayer and "spell casting". The metaphysical mechanics are completely different but each method is about needs, desires, communication and fulfilment.

Witchcraft is the tool that Wiccans use to connect with Deity, But they are not alone. Many religions including some forms of Christianity practice Witchcraft. Ray Buckland wrote a book called Practical Candle Burning Rituals that shows that ancient Pagan spells and their newer Christian counterparts.

Yes and no,
Magick is a maniplation of energy, anyone is capable of doing it. Even you. I think that it would go against their belief system, They believe that magick is of the devil, magick is a very personal thing. If one were to manipulate something for the betterment of themselves then it would set in action a whole new set of events, When one does magick it changes the outcome of a specific event, It would set somethings out of balance this is why it is very dangerous for someone to do it that has little or no experience with this type of spiritual energy , I dont believe that christians do. So yes they can do it, Anyone can but at the same time they cant. Although some Christians are familiar with magick and can do it. so some Christians can and do, do magick here is a link that shows some Christians do it and have no problem with it. http://paganwiccan.about.com/od/christia...
Hope this helps...

No one has the power to "cast spells" so it doesn't matter if you are a Christian or a Wicca.

It does not matter if you are Christian, Wiccan, or any specific religion. Everyone has the power to cast spells. The power of prayer or the power of chanting and channeling is one form of magick. Every religion has it rituals and beliefs that date far back in time. Every religion also believes in the power that dwells within us and the power of our deities.
If you chose to use that power to cast a spell please remember that you are about to do something that may harm someone, or even yourself, in a way you didn't mean for the spell to do. Wiccans spent a lot of their time studying and practicing the use of their magick before they release it in spells. Wiccans also follow very strict laws to prevent harm from occuring to themselves and others.
I encourage you to use precaution in whatever decision you make. Magick is a very powerful tool and you must know how to use that tool before handling it. And please keep in mind the important "Threefold Law," whatever you send out, good or bad, will come back to you threefold. It is the most important law that Wiccans follow.

I certainly have seen many circumstances the place people have solid spells and the outcomes they have been attempting to deliver forth certainly happened. although, in each and each of the situations the place i've got seen this, there has constantly been the potential of those issues happening in spite of any spell being solid. i haven't seen any form of issues take place that would violate the regulations of nature, at the same time with levitation or issues performing out of skinny air. To the final of my know-how and journey, that style of magic is organic fantasy. a pair of circumstances, although, effects have take place so quickly after the casting that it became extremely no longer hassle-free to low value the potential of a few thing magical happening. i've got additionally seen many activities the place the needed effect never materialized in any respect. the final situations, although, have constantly been those the place the needed effect got here approximately, yet in a technique the caster neither envisioned or enjoyed. i've got additionally seen comparable issues ensue with the prayers of non secular people of a sort of religions. interior the top, although, i certainly can not furnish something different than anecdotal data to assist the existence of magic or supernatural forces of any form. of course, if magic became some thing that must be shown to exist and that must be reliably reproduced in laboratory situations, it does no longer be magic anymore. it may be a medical phenomenon that had no longer yet been defined.

It's kind of a contradiction. While there are those who claim to be Christian Witches, I'm a realist, and have read the bible. Witchcraft is condemned by the bible, saying that it's the tool and gift of the Devil. "Thou Shalt Not Suffer A Witch To Live" a popular quote. I do not think that it makes sense but if someone who is Christian wants to practice witchcraft, then that is their option. But to me, a Christian Witch is like a Christian-Jew or a Muslim-Buddhist.

Yup.
Wicca is a religion. Magick is a system, NOT a religion.
Anyone of any faith can cast spells. This is not demonic, a spell is an enacted Prayer.
