OK, as i was reading a post. Another question comes to mind. Or explaination to one.
For those who think Cain married a sibling. i think, i may have found the answer to dis-prove it. Don't get me wrong .I said: MAY HAVE FOUND,not found BUT MAY HAVE!
If we go back to G1 v 26. Where God has gathered. all the sons of God. (for arguments sake OK?)
Now God says to them! "Let us make man in OUR OWN IMAGE." Now consider this .
OUR! And God blesses them and says: "Be fruitful and mulitply." Now time passes. God plants a garden ch2 v 8. Man has already been established.
Now we go back to ch2 v 7. God takes time to form man fro mthe ground. Not as in g1.(it does not say man was formed fro mthe ground.)anyway,
God had planted a garden ,and placed man(Adam) to care for it. Now Cain could not of married his sister, because,
Eve does not exist yet.
Now God has already established, M/F being created. Adam ,is working in the garden. Time passes.

To continue. Time passes, Man by now have children. Adam is still in the garden. still time pases, God see Adam is alone. God creates Eve. Time passes. By now men and women, or comingotthe garden to get fruit. Adam makes contact. Time passes. Eve has now been created. They are stil in the garden. Time passes. A&E. Are cast from the garden ,because of what they did. Again, time passes. C&A or born, and working the fields. C slains A.
C. Is now cursed by God. C, tells God ,that there may be those who would seek to kill him.
C.becomes afugitive among man. C. establishes, the there are other people. (So at this point we find, that A&E & C&A. Are not alone on the eatrh. Cain has established it himself. (So at this point A&E did only have to sons). Seth was not born, until Adam was130yrs old. So between the time after Cain slayed Able. Adam didn't have any more children. Cain already had met his wife, in the land of Nod.
So as for Cain marring his sister. very unlikely.

Thanks for your e-mail telling me I am wrong.

But I believe Genesis 3:20 AFTER THIS, ADAM CALLED HIS WIFE EVE, BECAUSE SHE HAD TO BECOME THE MOTHER OF EVERYONE LIVING.

This means that Cain married a relative.

'Let US make man in our image,' God is speaking with the prehuman Jesus, aka the Word. Proverbs 8:30; John 1:1-4.

I must respectfully disagree J. C. Eve was formed from the rib of Adam so her DNA was from him. That would be closer than even a sister is by today's standards. Adam and Eve's children did marry their siblings up to a point. Keep in mind that the bible says they lived to be over 900 years old. Think of the number of generations that represents. Another thing to consider is that when there were only a few siblings was soon after the fall of mankind and sin had not had the effect on human DNA then as it has had now. Back then marrying a close relative did not have the same risk as it does now. As you, I have no evidence that this is true but it seems to be more consistant with the story as written.

Actually in response to the person that says the Bible has been thrown out as the source for anything is not entirely correct. Try going to the middle east on an archeology dig without it. Its pretty much accepted as one of the most historically sound books ever written. That is when you get into the higher sciences.

Now to your question. The Our image was talking about the Father , Son and Holy Spirit. So I believe that is the starting point for your logic, therefore the rest of the argument is moot from here on out. And God placed man in the garden, which means He had one prepared before they were both created on the 6th day.

Long question :)
Very thought out, but you have to remember that Christ Jesus is a son of Adam and came to save the sons of Adam. If I understand you correctly, you are saying that there were other humans? If that is true, then you have a problem with the salvation message to all humans.

A much easier answer is that Cain did marry a sister or niece. That seems wrong to us, but scientifically speaking, there was no problem. Adam and Eve were created perfectly ... in their very genetic makeup. We today have gone through thousands of years of genetic dumping and mixing and the result is that we are not as perfect as Adam was made. Now adays, if I marry my second cousin, there could be genetic problems with my children.

It wasn't until Moses day that God said no to first cousins marrying. At the beginning, there would be no scientific reason why they couldn't marry and breed.

It's sometimes amusing, sometimes painful watching literalists trying to twist and tirture the Bible into a reasonable historical narrative. Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 are completely different creation stories, from completely different points of view. Genesis 1 shows the power, order and gtoodness of God's creative act. Genesis 2 describes the importance of man in creation.

The accounts are incompatible. In Genesis 1, plants were created on the third day, man on the sixth. In Genesis 2, man was created before plants. It doesn't matter. The details of the event are not the point of either story.

Why try to twist something to a theory when it is completely unnecessary and even impossible? There is absolutely no problem at all with Cain marrying his sister.

The laws against incest was put into place when our DNA become corrupted enough to cause problems. Originally their genetic codes would have been absolutely perfect. With perfect genes, incest is no problem. The law was not just written out of no where, out of thin air for no reason, there is a reason behind all of the laws. In this the case of incest, the laws were written for our protection.

Or it is possible that the Adam and Eve / Cain and Abel thing was just a story.

Your genesis was written by the hand of man. The fact is that man has flaws and the ability to lie. Therefore: the Bible has been thrown out as a valid source for anything.

Moot point!!!! Next Question....
