Okay, they only use the watchtower.org site, or the watchtower, Awake! or the favorable translated New World translation bible as sources. Whenever you show them some information from another source they say it isn't dependable. How absurd and stupid is this? As if the pedifile cases were totally false. As if the WT headquarters is so organized and actually agree with each other's doctrines. Why do you think things change so often; they don't know what the heck they are talking about. God can't accurately show them what he wants them to do? Come on! Pyramids used to predict Jesus return?

I've had sources from BBC, one of the most widespread sources of information in the WORLD. It produces most of the programs on the PBS program channel many of Discovery Channels programs too. Also Dateline did an investigation, the basic news channels did. The Watchtower itself can be used as a source for the constant ever changing prophcies they have. How can anyone be so blind and ignorant

Oh yeah:

But the best source of finding the inaccuracy's of the JW cult is it's history. So Sad.

Well, the J Dubs view the Creators of the Publications from Brooklyn as being the "Faithful and Discrete Slave" who dispenses Spiritual Food at the Appropriate time... ( Basically )...
Entertaining in a Perverse way, but I can guarantee one thing, that if you have Insomnia, their Publications will relieve you of some of those symptoms :-)

I don't knock ALL sources other than the watchtower. I do think "Sources" like Dateline and Youtube are in no way accurate places to go for information. Neither of these are the "news" one calls itself, not sure of exact wording, a news magazine, or something along this line. Youtube is something where, while nice if you want to see someone's Opinion, there are no controls to make sure that Only facts are mentioned. When people quote Actual news reports, I take notice.

What do you know about Bible prophecies? You don't think the early Christians didn't make few mistakes with their Bible understanding? The apostle Paul, a Bible writer said at 1 Corinthians 13:12 "At present we see in hazy outline by means of a metal mirror, but then it will be face to face. At present I know partially, but then I shall know accurately...." even he at times did not fully understood. What do you expect from jehovah't witnesses? perfection? At least their governing body is humble enough to CORRECT matters when necessary. So what if they don't entertain other publications other that what the Watchtower provides for them? They believe they have the truth. then what is the point of reading other materials that can poison their mind away from the truth? Have you been to Bethel in Brooklyn, New York? Watchtower Farms? Their educational facility in Patterson? I have and i'm not a Jehovah's witness and you know what? I've never seen a group so organized in my whole entire life.... and to think...all who works there are there voluntarily!!! Do you even know what they did for victims of 9/11 RIGHT AFTER THE ATTACK? All who entered the Watchtower building were immediately fed, was given first aid treatment, bathe, clothing-- jw's are not brainwashed... they have the truth. We all need to deal with it!

Same can be said for all Christian religions.

Change occurs, books are interpreted differently. Everyone of them believes that only they have the Truth.

In reality it is all based on books collected and interpreted by the Roman Empire, if they had chosen other books the religion would look completely different.

What makes the Gospel of John, more important than the Gospel of Peter, or the Acts of Mary? Truth is that they were selected to create doctrine. All Christian religions are creations of Roman Catholic Priests and Roman leaders. Things have been added throughout history, Martin Luther decided he didn't agree and created enough strife to cause protestantism.

Other Prophets including those that caused JWs and Mormons have come and gone, and humans keep adapting beliefs.

This happens because there is NO concrete proof for any of it. Without proof, everyone is relying on feelings, those feelings are manipulated by charismatic people who end up being called prophets, by future generations. The religion changes, people fight against one another and kill one another based upon feelings.

Focus on the things that cause true growth and don't cause conflict and you will be much happier. We are discovering new things everyday, about the past and new findings that will help us in the future, through technology. Religion is an impediment to both.

I notice in your BBC reference that he doesn't say what Kingdom Hall or Congregation he belonged to. I wonder why he doesn't know?

These allegations are easy to make, as they require little to no proof. Over 20 years of experience working with divorced and single father tells me that. I remember a BBC story from the 90s that talked about how 60% of fathers seeking custody are accused of sexual abuse of their children. Does that mean that 60% of them are sexually abusing their children. This type of rhetoric is to be expected as Nisan 14 is approaching.

One big diiference between witness elders and those of other large organizations is they are not elitist who hold power or get paid. Over 200 new elders are created a week to fill the need of new congregations being formed. They guy in the BBC story thought elders should be paid for their work. I guess now he has found some suckers to pay him.

This is the only answer that I can give you, and it is really more of a response...

John 15:17-26: “These things I command YOU, that YOU love one another. 18 If the world hates YOU, YOU know that it has hated me before it hated YOU. 19 If YOU were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because YOU are no part of the world, but I have chosen YOU out of the world, on this account the world hates YOU. 20 Bear in mind the word I said to YOU, A slave is not greater than his master. If they have persecuted me, they will persecute YOU also; if they have observed my word, they will observe YOURS also. 21 But they will do all these things against YOU on account of my name, because they do not know him that sent me. 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 He that hates me hates also my Father. 24 If I had not done among them the works that no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have both seen and hated me as well as my Father. 25 But it is that the word written in their Law may be fulfilled, ‘They hated me without cause.’ 26 When the helper arrives that I will send YOU from the Father, the spirit of the truth, which proceeds from the Father, that one will bear witness about me;"

In reply to your question of biased and inacurate information. All religions are biased it doesnt make them more accurate or less acurate than the other, it is all subjective. All religion is subjective there are no real deffinant truths as that we have not met our maker yet. Each truth is as we view it and interpreted in the way that makes sense for us.

Maybe you should talk to someone else. Nobody is perfect in any religion or place, so maybe the presentation wasn't tactful, but I'm sure it came from a true love of God.

Because the one that started their religion believed he was above God, and his teachings come first.
But, it is silly. God says that only the Bible is to be used. and if any faith doesnt come to you with the teachings of Jesus, it is false religion. There are things that God says must be taught to be true faith, and the JW do not have many of those teachings as they place their watchtower organization above the word of God.

Noone is above the word of God. doesnt even matter what you think or I think. all that matters is exactly what God says, and to know that, we must read the Bible and study it, and pray and KNOW for ourselves. Noone else can do it for us.
The reaason ppl are blinded is the devil has put on a blinder , so they cant clearly see and that happens thru disobedience to His word.. so , the more they disobey God, the more blind one becomes. We must respect their right to believe as they choose, but hav eno part of any religion that is not Biblical in all facts they teach.

You could ask the same question about any Christian sect. None of them agree with the other and all use their own, favored, translation and/or interpretation of the bible.
