In Genesis, we learn of the creation of Adam and Eve. We then find that they had two sons...Cain and Abel. Cain kills Abel and is sent away by God. His brother Seth is born. Cain finds a city and people...takes a wife and raises a family.
There are two main thoughts on where these other people came from. Many would say that they were other brothers and sisters that the Bible did not mention. The order of the narrative is somewhat iffy regarding that, though, as once Cain killed Abel, God came to him and sent him away, and Cain headed east to Nod where he found a wife and started a family. Then, Eve was sad so her and Adam got busy and she gave birth to Seth. If she had other children, she would most likely not have replied that God has given her another child in place of Abel, since Cain killed him. The other thought is that Adam and Eve were the first humans that God created, but that God created other humans later on, in other areas, which would include the people in Nod,
