The way in which mankind is created in the "image" of God is that, like God, we are beings of spirit - an idea exclusive to mankind, not shared by anything else in all of creation.

The word "image" does NOT refer to our appearance or physical make-up. The idea that we are created in the image of God has absolutely nothing to do with the perfection of God as it contrasts with our imperfection.

A side note: Christians who profess that mankind was made "perfect" are either misled or misunderstand the concept of perfection. Only God is perfect, mankind is finite and prone to imperfection at every turn, which illustrates our need for God's grace.

Man was created as a perfect being, after the image of God. We lost our perfection when we sinned. So, we can no longer mirror the perfect image of God.

its not mean that GOD had created US just like HIM. in own image means WITHOUT SIN GOD IS WITHOUT SIN and we could have eternal life ... we had had eternal life if we had choose not to sin but we had chose sin why ? God had gave us a free will and had sin in the first occasion .we had choose to know about bad and good experiencing the bad its not a clever way to increase knowledge !!!
don't do that

WE NEVER CAN BE LIKE GOD HE IS THE CR EATER

Your conclusion is wrong because a mortal is not the image of God. God's image is not subject to mortality, sin, sickness, or death. God's image is eternal, perfect as God Himself is the same. The mortal you are conscious of is not His image, and God is not touched or changed by our misconceptions of reality. He is perfect. Motals are not.

God is a man is why we are created in his image. What the religious can't see God was an extraterrestrial man that dupe primitive people into thinking he was a Deity. Worshiping ET would be just as stupid as the idea of a God in heaven.

Hey, don't think I am the crazy one. I am just quoting the facts as ancient men depicted it.

A lot has happened since then. It started with something called "the fall". I think the "image" has been marred (not God's, but ours).

No, he created us perfect, then we choose to sin. That had an effect on our image. Once again, we have the classic example of man trying to bring God down to our level.

no

he created man unfallen, but man sinned and the image was tinged with sin

he also created man finite and God was never finite

perhaps god created souls (not humans) with free will and in his image with the same powers of a lessor degree.

I believe in a god of unconditional love that created our souls with free will (not humans) in his likeness. many souls could not bear to leave fathers side for the loss of love. many souls went out and returned to share their adventures. Some souls rebeled wanted to be a god themselves. This place (earth system) WAS CREATED FOR THE SOUL TO MAKE ITS FINAL CHOICE. Do they really want to be a "little God and live in dominion=lordship over others. or return to father of love/fellowship/joy/sharing/ab... bliss.

What if heaven and hell are exactly the same except for one difference? What ever you picture in your head heaven to be, imagine hell to be the same except for one difference. Everything you can do in heaven you can do in hell except for one difference. The difference is love or dominion. If you choose love you are in heaven, you are sharing love/joy/fellowship, absolute bliss in all you do.

If you choose dominion you are in hell, everyone will be dominion bent, acting without regard to anything but personal pleasure, personal gain, exercising power over others. Everyman for himself in all that is done. Everything else is the same.

Now which path do/will you choose? LOVE or DOMINION

P.S. Doesn't hell feel a lot like earth?
P.S. S. If you choose dominion click on exit, there is nothing here for you.
