I haven't done much research, but I hear a lot of conflicting views on Mary Magdalene, Lilith, etc. I'm working on some research of my own, but I'd like to see what some intelligent people have to say about it.

Many misinterpret the scriptures. Mary Magdalene is identified as having had 7 demons kicked out by Jesus, NOT as a former prostitute.

She is mentioned 12 times in the Gospels, with none elsewhere in the text. Here is the NIV for each citation:

Mt 27:56 Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee’s sons.
Mt 27:61 Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were sitting there opposite the tomb.
Mt 28:1 After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.
Mk 15:40 Some women were watching from a distance. Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the younger and of Joses, and Salome.
Mk 15:47 Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses saw where he was laid.
Mk 16:1 When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body.
Mk 16:9 When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had driven seven demons.
Lk 8:2 and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary (called Magdalene) from whom seven demons had come out;
Lk 24:10 It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the others with them who told this to the apostles.
Jn 19:25 Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.
Jn 20:1 Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance.
Jn 20:18 Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: “I have seen the Lord!” And she told them that he had said these things to her.

Other than these passages, we know nothing about her. That Luke identifies her as one who SUPPORTED JESUS' MINISTRY (Luke 8:3) puts her in a prominent place among the disciples, but nothing in scripture in any way supports the claims of the fiction writers.

Re: 'Lilith' - This word is used all but once in the Hebrew Scriptures...and is usually understood to mean an 'unseen terror'. the root of the word means 'night'...thus a 'terror in the night...something unseen' The myth that there was some female demon or other who mated with Adam is just that...myth.

Re: Mary Magdalene...stick to strictly christian sources and stay out of the fiction section.

Lilith was never real. Mary Magdalene was not a prostitute.
