Limbo was never doctrine to begin with. It was always a theory, so when that pope became pope (I don't remember which one it was) he "deleted" it because he didn't think it was a good thing to teach. And he was right. It's kind of silly. There is Purgatory, however. That is doctrine. The Catholic Church teaches that most souls go to Purgatory before going to Heaven. If a soul goes to Purgatory, it WILL go to Heaven. Purgatory is there for the purpose of souls being "purged" of their sins. Nothing can go into Heaven if it isn't sinless and perfect, so souls go there and wait for their sins to be washed away. Babies are born with "original sin" which is what everyone is born with because of Adam and Eve. They were born without sin, but because they ate of the Forbidden Fruit, so all mankind is destined to be born with a sinful nature. Some churches baptise when you are old enough to decide for yourself whether you want to be a Christian. As for the churches that baptise babies, it's more of a symbolic thing. "Washing away original sin." Baptism is usually quite important to most churches, though, because Christ Himself was baptised.

The Pope didn't "delete" Limbo, as it was never an official doctrine of the Catholic Church. It was simply a popular grass roots idea that attempted to explain the apparent conflict between the biblical fact that being born of water and the spirit is necessary for salvation, and the logical fact that a just and loving God would not send innocent children to hell. But because Limbo is not genuine doctrinal truth, the pope has discouraged the tradition.

A baby is not born "with sins"; but a baby is born with the effects that the original sin had upon human nature. All human beings are born with this spiritual deficiency. It is the sacramental grace of baptism that overcomes this deficit, making us children of God and eligible for eternal life.

You force children to take baths, don't you? Brush their teeth? Get enough sleep? Or do you just postpone such things until they can decide for themselves? Which is more important - a physical life that will be over in less than a hundred years, or spiritual life which is the means to eternal life?

Very interesting questions, telling of a person who has learned religion from the media rather than reading the bible. There is no limbo. That idea is a religious invention by the catholic church. A baby is not born with sin, but with a sin nature that would develop as the child came into the age of accountability when they are conscious of right and wrong. The bible teaches that a person should not be baptized until they are able to decide for themselves. I'm sorry that you've learned religion from catholic media, but that is just not what the writers and prophets of the bible taught.

Religion is a man-made concept. Limbo is also man-made,
Jesus referred to dry places as hell.

A baby is just a house for a spirit, the spirit is a saint, an elect, a clean spirit, an unclean spirit, an evil spirit, a demon or Satan. The majority of us are unclean spirits, when we die we go to dry places seeking rest, and can not find it, because it is in paradise on the other side of the GULF.

The spirit in or out of it's house still has it's sins, it is not until the baby takes it's first breath that the spirits enter and dwell therein,

We are not to be baptized until we reach the age of puberty and only if we believe in Jesus Christ. We are not born into religion (who we believe in) we choose who we want to believe in or we choose not to believe, this is what free-will is
all about

Jesus told us in John 3:14 we can still get to heaven if we believe in God, no matter who are teacher is.

There is NO limbo, and even if there was, the Pope surely wouldn't have any authority or power to 'delete' it! It is good that you don't believe in any religion. There are way too many false religions and fades and such out there to greatly confuse people, so as to cause them to lose their very souls!
I do suggest though, that you try Jesus, and learning experience for the mind, body and soul! Christianity is meant to be a 'way of life' by following after the way Christ showed us in the Gospels, and NOT a religiousity of lighting candles, chanting phrases, and crawling on our knees until they bleed!
A baby is born with original sins, inherited down through the generations, thanks to our ancestor, . . .'ADAM'! A child under the age of 'accountability', their sins are not accounted unto them, but one of the age of accountability can certainly die in their SINS!!! God is the judge and He alone judges when each and every child reaches their individual 'age of accountability' for their sins!!

Purgatory is part of the official doctrine of the church it never was revoked.

This is like the 40000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 I have answered this question. It is still there.

Baptism is the welcoming of the child into God's community, it is the parents promise to raise the child in the faith. The child makes the choice later and confirms the baptism or not.

Finally original sin is not a sin per se but our willingness to turn away from the love of God.

look in the scriptures on your solutions, do not look to some man made hierarchy headed by ability of one called the pope. the in undemanding words actuality we've about our faith is the bible, God's note. The bible does no longer say everyone's soul is going to limbo. The bible does no longer say you may pray for the useless, too overdue, pray for those alive. What about the thief on the bypass that Christ informed " at present i visit work out you in paradise" he replaced into no longer baptized! in accordance to the scriptures we are to be baptized when we've universal the Lord Jesus Christ as our own saviour. There aren't any situations in the bible the position babies are baptized. We develop into baptized when we understand what it ability and need to do it out of obedience to the Lord, it symbolizes the shortcoming of life to the old self when we are immersed and as we upward thrust up it represents the recent existence the Lord has given us basically as He rose from the useless. I say this stuff in kindness and am no longer attacking your faith yet even if that's not in the scriptures that's of guy no longer of God.

Sorry, but "limbo" is a Roman Catholic teaching that was thoroughly de-emphasized by Vatican II. John Paul II never mentioned it after his coronation.

Limbo is a theoretical, non-existant construct. There is no teaching of "limbo" in the Bible. Just Heaven or Hell after death.

The sins of the baby are inherited from the parents, either directly by birth; or federally with the actions of our first parents.

An example of "federal" is when our government makes us liable for billions and billions of dollars that we had no say in their expenditure, except we elected our federal representatives! In the same way babies are responsible for sin.
Acts 17:30
"Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent,"

Catholic baptism of babies is supposed to take away the effects of original sin (death), but the Bible teaches baptism of believers because of the forgiveness of their sin.

You are correct, babies cannot repent, and thus should not be baptized. Adults should be baptized when they are converted.
Acts 16:30-33
30 and after he brought them out, he said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"
31 They said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household."
32 And they spoke the word of the Lord to him together with all who were in his house.
33 And he took them that very hour of the night and washed their wounds, and immediately he was baptized, he and all his household.

Christ taught them his good news of salvation and many were saved. How can they be born with sin? Here's how. Around 23,000 yrs ago we were all on the earth in paradise. Everyone was happy then Lucifer who was one of Gods most beautiful and powerful angels got to be very prideful , and started breaking every law that god made. He was teaching the other people to be just as lawless as he was. God could not abide that. So he took everybody off of the earth and took them to heaven with him and flooded the earth. From the time he created us(angels) untill the time he flooded the earth ,unlike noah's flood this one was global, is called the " first earth age " then he rebuilt the earth at the time of adam and eve. Then he created earthly bodies to put the spirit of those in heaven into. Now we have the spirts that were in heaven on earth in new baby bodies. But the spirt (souls) of these are still guilty of all the commandments they broke. So in that way our sins followed us here. We are put here born innocent to choose who we want to follow , God's ways or satans ways. Now you can try to get to heaven by not sinning . And of course we all know how well that will work out. Or you can accept jesus for your savior since he earned the right to aquit you of your sins by virtue of his death on the cross. Deuteronomy 19 gives god the LAWFUL right to kill satan. And to forgive sins. I know this explanation is not put together very well but my illness is starting to take it's toll. Maybe someone can rewrite it in more exact and understandable manner.

It is easy to get rid of a place, like "limbo", when it is only a religious idea. And baptizing infants. None of that stuff is in the Bible. Get real. Read it for yourself.
