I am getting married to a man that is an atheist, as am I, but his family is ultra-religious! Ever since we told them we were getting married outside of the church, his mother has been harrassing me daily. She threatens to make up stories about me to get me arrested. His sister calls me crying begging me to get married in the family church. My fiancee doesn't answer the phone anymore. My father has taken a restraining order out on his mother because she keeps driving by our house and honking her horn. Really! Like 8 times a day! More on weekends!

Is there anything I can say to these people to make them understand that they are just pushing their son/bro away? We're planning on moving three states away in a year, but we'll have to find some sort of peace until then.

I don't understand how they can say they are good christians and then act like this to a family member!

Any advice??

Is there a place named Heaven (not the spiritual one) in the US or anywhere else in the world?

Serious question here. I know if you are catholic and marrying someone who is not, you can ask permission from the bishop to get married in a different church. What my question is, my lutheran fiance would like to be married by a lutheran minister at an outdoor wedding ( i would love to do this too but i want it to be approved in the catholic church because it would make my mother happy). Do you think my bishop will approve this? The reason Im wondering is because I also know that catholics arent suppose to be married outdoors. Do you think this type of wedding would be approved or would it be too much for a catholic bishop?

THANKS

I for one believe the bible is full of errors, and not the inspired word of any god. That's what my education and years of study have revealed to me.

But, for you literalists...

There is no figurative way of interpreting Leviticus 20:13 or Exodus 22:18. For example: You either think it's a good idea to kill homosexuals and witches or you don't. If you don't, then say so -- and then be honest enough to admit that the bible is neither a good moral guide nor the inspired word of God.

Or, you can admit that God made errors in writing the OT, errors which later had to be corrected. And, that doesn't bode well for your theory, either.

And then, we get into all the errors in the NT.

1COR 24:34-35. You either agree women should shut their yaps while in church, or they shouldn't.

All the OT and NT tenets forbidding divorce, yet xians have practically instiitutionalized it. You either agree with jesus-myth's rules, or you don't.

Do you have the courage to take a stand?

If you don't believe in evolution, you can't trust science at all, because all of the facts you so blatantly ignore were derived by the same method that allowed the internet to be created.

So a fun little experiment...first use scientific knowledge to your advantage. Turn on your TV. There, you used science, as science made that possible.

Next shoot your TV and pray to Christ that the tv automatically turns on.

Who won, Christ or science?

As the Holy E-Bible says:
John 14:6, "Laptop Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

John 3:3, "Laptop Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of Laptops."

Accept Him now my children, and ye all shalt rejoice the eternal heavens of software and of His company, Repent before His 2nd coming, and be among the righteous. Ye will see the miracle of His resurrection in Yahoo! in spite of the E- devil's wishes. Repent my children and follow the truth.

Spread the Word!

According to Jesus, when your house (mind) is swept clean by Gnosis, the darkness will come. It's those who make it through this darkness, and light multiplies manyfold, that have true knowledge.

Raised a Roman Catholic, I achieved salvation through knowledge/Gnosis by Jesus Christ last week. I was then Baptised by the Holy Spirit (born of water as my infant baptism, and born of Spirit last week, both needed for true salvation), and I am now a Gnostic Christian Universalist. I always loved the natural sciences and couldn't accept the Bible literally, such as a literal hell where God would throw His Children permanently, but now I can marry both Evolution and Creation, as God made BOTH. I appreciate the open-mindedness with religion that the Roman Catholic Church accepts, as it accepts Evolution and looking at the Bible figuratively, although to truly understand, you must look both figuratively and literally, in spiritual truth, and you will see. I don't appreciate the manmade doctrine of Roman Catholicism, which Jesus specifically forbid, although some of the traditions are beautiful. I have been reading the New Testament with new understanding and spiritual eyes since then. I have not felt the coming darkness yet, although some temptatations have come up. I have been rebuked each time and am trying to learn better to please God, but overall my life and demeanour, including my outlook, have changed dramatically, and nothing bothers me anymore, as I know what awaits us, and the love and eternity that God has granted His Children, you just have to seek and find as I did. There are no contradictions between Science and God, only unbelief and blindness. I however, will do my best to be the person God wants me to be through love while I am here, and before I go to Him at the end of my natural life.

As for the darkness... I feel I haven't received it yet because I've been on Effexor for a few months for anxiety. I don't have anxiety anymore in any form, although I did still have some anxieties before Gnosis. When will the darkness come? I am not afraid of it, as I have God and Jesus as my Shepherd and Saviour. I think I will need to get off the medication, helpful as it was when I needed it, to get through the darkness, of which I will emerge on the other side.

When did the darkness come and how did it effect you? Did you get through it successfully?

Thank you! Together in God and Jesus!

And please don't tell me what I said isn't in the Bible and that salvation is through faith alone and that I am wrong. For some it is faith, for others, it's knowledge. It all leads to God. I know God exists, as I have experienced his love, light and eternity first hand, so much that it moved me to tears, laughter and getting down on my knees and praising God! To each their own, and mine is knowledge, which for me is Light, Truth and the Way of Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit. I am looking for answers from those who have had the same experience as I, thank you.

Because if they did they would realise that:
(1) Sodom and Gommorah was no more "gay" than any other place. The bible says it was a populous city, which means that most of the people in it were OBVIOUSLY heterosexual and having children. Even Lots two daughters were ENGAGED to be married to men in the city.

(2) The gang of men who wanted to have sex with the two angels were obviously heterosexual. Why else would Lot even bother to offer his two DAUGHTERS to them as a distraction?

(3) A gang of men wanting to have sex with just two men? Isn't that GANG RAPE? If these men of Sodom attracted to or in love with the angelsthen YES, they were gay. But if this was about rape, then we are talking about a violent act. A rapist's only concern in humiliating and dominating another person and a lot of the men who rape other men in prison happen to be....... heterosexual.

(4) NO OTHER SCRIPTURE supports the claim that Sodom was destroyed because it wasa gay city.

Now, can we stop falsely claiming that there is no evidence of transitional species? Thanks.

Does this get you any closer to understanding evolution?

Talk about your ultimate "Pyramid Scheme". Wow. So, all I have to do is create a god, write a book, say the god I created "inspired" the words in the book, people will take it as "law", and then give me money to get up early on Sunday and come listen to me talk? Amazing.

So, we need to start a committee, and get on this. There's money to be made here people. I don't know why more people aren't doing this.

From what I have seen, you can even say you are the "second coming", be a Puerto Rican ex-con, and people will just throw there money at you.

So, who wants to start a new religion with me? I don't even care what rules we make, as long as the money is coming in.
