Talk about your ultimate "Pyramid Scheme". Wow. So, all I have to do is create a god, write a book, say the god I created "inspired" the words in the book, people will take it as "law", and then give me money to get up early on Sunday and come listen to me talk? Amazing.
So, we need to start a committee, and get on this. There's money to be made here people. I don't know why more people aren't doing this.
From what I have seen, you can even say you are the "second coming", be a Puerto Rican ex-con, and people will just throw there money at you.
So, who wants to start a new religion with me? I don't even care what rules we make, as long as the money is coming in.

Interesting idea and with some effort it will work (especially in America?).
BUT unless there is no after life OR you live forever (which would confirm you as a bit special) there WILL be a day of reckoning.
I guess it really comes down to what you do with the mountain of cash that will accumulate.
I am sure that no God would judge you harshly for doing good deeds with the money but I don't personally fancy the alternative.

It's too bad L. Ron took the sci-fi angle, or you could have started there. They also have the celebrity endorsements. I'll join as long as we incorporate a bar and a sports book into this new place of worship.

Can we base it on Naturalism? "God" can be "Mother Nature". Maybe we can cook up some way of species diversification... we could call it "evolution". And how about somethin' catchy for the creation... why not the "Big Bang". Oh, yeah, I'm in!
