start in Genesis 29 and read through to the end of Genesis. Jacob is Joseph's father.

It starts out with Jacob's family - Joseph is his son by Rachael. Later Joseph is taken to Egypt.

Which Joseph? If you're talking about the son of Jacob, the guy that his brothers sold into slavery, look in the Book of Genesis. If you're talking about the husband of Mary, I would look in the Book of Luke.
