No woman I have ever dated/related/married has been monogamous or faithful within the relationship. Many of my male & female friends have undergone tremendous betrayals by the women/men in their lives. In fact, with the exception of a few friends (all happily married) that I know, I am the only person I know who has never had a platonic/sexual 'affair' while in a loving relationship with someone of the opposite sex.

Anyone else out there practice what they preach in this area? And if so, how do you deal with feeling like you're in the minority?

I am a man of science that is searching for answers. I would like atheists to tell me what experiments they did to prove to themselves that there is no God. I want to do some experiments that follow the scientific method and will result in radical evolution. I'm not talking about a freak fly being born with 3 wings, that's not real evolution. I'm talking about total transformation from one species to another, the way Darwin predicted. How can I recreate this in a lab using the scientific method to prove to myself that the theory is correct? I'm not into books and listening to what Dawkins says, I want to be able to see and feel evolution...which is how real science is done, so please let me know the steps I need to make an evolution experiment work.

Its been said that there a few needs we have that drive our behavior, they are.....

We need to love and be loved

We want to know and be known

We want to accept and be accepted

We want to respect and be respected

We want to give and receive

We want to care and be cared for

Which of these do you hunger for the most and which is the least?

This is just a honest question and not to insult anyone. I apologised in advance in case I offend anybody with this question.

Religion giveth to science by providing a more ordered society in which scientists can be free to do their work and religion taketh away by imposing restrictions on science based on primitive beliefs.

Also, it divides society into those who are vulnerable to religions influence and those who scorn religion yet understand its importance in controlling the behavior of the witless hordes.

the whole story could be untrustworthy, being crowded with fictitious details, legends, and stories by his companion or chief biographers that are Ibn Ishaq (A.H. 151=A.D. 768), Wakidi (207=822), Ibn Hisham (213=828), Ibn Sa'd (230=845), Tirmidhi (279=892), Tabari (310-929).
That could lead to artificial, legendary development, rather than supplementary historical information.

I don't get it. Some have faith, some don't. And please don't give me the line that you are sick of people of faith trying to convert you or force their faith on you. It just doesn't happen that much.

"Godlessness in the Last Days
1But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.
6They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over weak-willed women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, 7always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth. 8Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these men oppose the truth—men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. 9But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone."

A Poem (Hebrews 13:5)

Anger consumed within me,
Rage passed continually by.
A mixture of blue and red,
Blinding the dim light inside me.

Once the light was like a flaming torch,
Such a torch that can be compared to the sun.
But even the sun rests, the flames can be vanquished
Only the night was witnessed until the morning dawned.

I was created to love you.
This was the only purpose,
But I chose to reject you.
How foolish of me to compose.

Given many chances to accept,
Welcome the love higher than my mother,
I was in an asylum locked by my choice.
“No more!” I uttered.

A glowing door suddenly appeared,
“Who could it be?” I questioned.
It opened; a figure so bright glanced at the corner,
“My child, fear not,” the figure mentioned.

I took his offering hand.
Richness of everlasting springs of water,
The right hand of infinite life.
We departed blissfully as He catered

“Do not sow any longer, for you are here with your Father,”
I began to weep as a baby weeps for his mother.
“My child, for you were once lost but now have been found.”
A final tear inching below, the Devil will no longer bother.

RFID chips were implanted in at least 100 corpses in Mississippi around September 15, 2005, after Hurricane Katrina.

They say it's for "to plan for and manage emergency situations and disaster recovery using implantable RFID technology." but please don't think they don't want the chips introduced to alive humans as well

I recommend the second link:

Are you sick of all the weirdo christian fundementalists?

Are you tired of being told that you are going to hell for accepting common sense, science and fact (ie evolution)?

Are you worried that millions of people believe that the world is a mere 6000 years old? And that every single species alive today fitted into one single boat?

Then join me and unite against the fundies!!! Let's comb through all the answers and give bad ratings to all the fundementalists... They do it to you all the time! Why not fight back! It's not fair that rational people are treated in such a manner!

Are you up for it?

I mean, if the attacks were fueled by Islamic religious convictions and a hatred for the west, then wouldn't Imams living in the west be capable of denouncing there attacks while 'speaking their language'?

I don't claim to understand a whole lot about Islam, but I have pretty deep christian convictions, and if someone were to come at me quoting scripture I would take what they were saying pretty seriously.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think that this particular type of diplomacy was even attempted. Seems like it was an obvious idea to me. Al-Jazeera would have televised a denouncement of the attacks, and it seems like that would have probably cut down on some of the ensuing acts of terrorism that have been carried out in Iraq and other places.

Maybe I really don't understand the nature of Islam. Maybe there is some reason that that would not have had the effect in the Middle East that something like that would have here.

From H.H. the Dalai Lama:

Religion is like going out to dinner with friends. Everyone may order something different, but everyone can still sit at the same table.
This is my simple religion:
There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy.
Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness.

How are the same fossils that respected scientists all over the world found to be millions of years old, claimed by creationists to only be thousands of years old? What methods do they use besides reading verses from the bible? How are these methods better than radioactive isotope dating that respected scientist all over the world are using? I even heard a creationist say that god created fossils that appear to be millions of years old. How does that make any sense?

"Once a citizen turns 70 they must agree with my administration 100%. If not, they will be sent to a secluded prision and tortured once a day, for the rest of their lives."

Let's even say that this president has actually been good for the country in most areas. Good for the economy, foreign relations, crime, etc. His justification for this law is that he is in no way forcing you to agree with his administration, but the consequence is there for not agreeing.

Would this be a president you would be happy to defend to others?
(And if you don't know why this question is in the religion section, just consider it a little longer).
