If thinking about cheating, is as bad as cheating.. I am thinking all sins are about the same.. BADNESS (for lack of a better term) in eyes of god.

Or am i wrong? Is there scripture we could look at that rates the.. wrongness of various sins in relation to other sins?

Well somebody once told me that sin is sin. And I say, well cheese is cheese weather you have a whole cheese wheel, a block, or a tiny square that you shove a toothpick into at the markets free sample counter why you wait for them to slice you some ham. My point is, that I think things are weighted. Is a lie that saves someones feelings as bad as shooting somebody. Would you rather I lie to you or I kill you. You tell me. Christians say homosexuality is a sin. Fine, but it can't be as bad as cheating. I mean, one hurts nobody and the other hurts somebodys feeling. They say sin is sin in the eyes of the lord and he sees all the same. Well I say if god doesn't take into account intent, timing and other factors and weigh it out, what kind of god judges people indiscriminatly. What no trial? Off to the gallows with ya? No matter what? This isn't a ******* dictatorship.

No. There are two types - Mortal and venial. Here is the teaching regarding your question.

Sins are rightly evaluated according to their gravity. The distinction between mortal and venial sin, already evident in Scripture,129 became part of the tradition of the Church. It is corroborated by human experience.

1855
Mortal sin destroys charity in the heart of man by a grave violation of God's law; it turns man away from God, who is his ultimate end and his beatitude, by preferring an inferior good to him.
Venial sin allows charity to subsist, even though it offends and wounds it.

1856
Mortal sin, by attacking the vital principle within us—that is, charity—necessitates a new initiative of God's mercy and a conversion of heart which is normally accomplished within the setting of the sacrament of reconciliation:

When the will sets itself upon something that is of its nature incompatible with the charity that orients man toward his ultimate end, then the sin is mortal by its very object . . . whether it contradicts the love of God, such as blasphemy or perjury, or the love of neighbor, such as homicide or adultery. . . . But when the sinner's will is set upon something that of its nature involves a disorder, but is not opposed to the love of God and neighbor, such as thoughtless chatter or immoderate laughter and the like, such sins are venial.130

1857
For a sin to be mortal, three conditions must together be met: "Mortal sin is sin whose object is grave matter and which is also committed with full knowledge and deliberate consent."131

Peace and every blessing!

It is very hard to find how sins rate, but the first is to deny the Holy Ghost. Second is to murder or shed innocent blood. Third are sins of a sexual nature, although I feel rape is one of the highest among them I do not know the order. From there on I truly don't know.

In Matthew 22:36-40 Jesus Christ is asked what is the great commandment. He answered

1. Love the Lord with all your heart
and
2. Love thy neighbor as thyself

In verse 40, it says "On these two hang all the law and the prophets." To me, that means that loving God and treating others well are most important to God. He ranked those as most important.

Also, in the Law of Moses, commandments had punishments attached, based on the seriousness of the commandment. I would guess that if God felt it important enough to rank commandments, we should too.

I believe that if it offends God or hurts another person, or future generations (such as adultery or abortion) these would be the most serious.

There has to be some degree of 'badness'! Maybe it depends on how much damage you know you are doing or probable damage. I think when it's your time to go, (in order to get to the place where you'd like to be), you must feel all of the pain you have caused others on Earth as punishment for your sins. Maybe......maybe not?

In my honest opinion no sin is the same. God is perfectly just and will reward people according to their works.
A murder will not be judged the same as a white lie.
