Because many are blinded by truth. Most people just take the word of their pastor or preacher to be the absolute truth, when in reality if they would go the distance and study the bible for themselves they would see that they are being led astray by blindness. Seek the truth as you would seek for a hidden treasure.

The ten commandments are there for our benefit. The fourth commandment is no graven images. God can't get any clearer than that. I have had people tell me it is just a symbol, it helps them to remember the price Jesus paid for them. They don't pray to it nor worship it. What ever they may say to justify their reasoning for owning one, it still goes against what God said about idols. The cross is a idol because Christians associate Christ with it. I often wonder why people would want to wear something that they think their Savior died on anyways. It kinda like rubbing salt in God's eyes.

Jesus taught all of us how to pray: OUR FATHER. Simple, pray to his Father, the one true God, Jehovah.

The wearing of the cross is NOT to really show their "faith", but it gives a reminder of what Jesus did for them and the rest of mankind. Why does it bother non believers what Christians wear?

We pray to God the Father in the name of Jesus. God/Jesus/Holy Spirit are but ONE God, three persons. Just like the egg, fire, or water. Remove any one element you have no God, no egg, no fire, nor no water.

Why is it that you and those like you always come in here and ask some "dumb" questions? Is it because you have the lack of understanding?

The New Testament is not just stories of the past. The New Testament is the fulfillment of the Old Testament.

We pray to Jesus (God the Son) as He is the only way to get to God the Father. After Jesus returned to Heaven the last time, God the Holy Spirit was sent to comfort us. As for why folks trying to make the Bible fit their lives, that's something they will have to answer to God about. The Old Testament is about the past, but also has lots of prophecies for today in it, especially in Daniel and Isaiah. So does Revelation...makes for interesting reading.

love you and love this question because my mind always questioned the same thing.

Some christians told me that jesus is God but some of them told me that jesus is the son of God. on the other hand, they told me that God represent 3, father, son (jesus, the son of God), and also holy spirit.

I wonder if jesus is a God, it's mean that their God is dead? if jesus only the son of God, why they have to pray to God through him and why they cannot pray straight to Him?

which one is correct? Jesus is the son of God or Jesus is God?

Bible had mentioned that there's only one God. why they believe in trinity?

how can God die and how can God had a son? it doesn't make sense at all.

Christians pray to Jesus because they are praying to God.
John 10:30
I and the Father are one. It is saying Jesus and God are one divine nature, but 2 distinct persons.

can't group all into that class of "Christians". for I know those that follow YAHWEH do not do such practices.

What you are talking about are the denominations that came from catholic long ago. Those are the ones who change things, choose what to follow, etc.

Some of us follow the book, know Jesus was a prophet, and know that YAHWEH (G_D) said over n over again....I AM THE ONLY G_D, and DO NOT WORSHIP ANY IMAGE OR STATUE. (checks neck) nope, no cross here.

Plus many follow KJV never realizing its been altered. 1 John 5:7 is great example, they added a line to it. (flips through book) Yep, Rev. 22 says DO NOT CHANGE BOOK.

Guess some can't read.

John.1
[1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
[2] The same was in the beginning with God.

the word is jesus
the father, the son, and the holy ghost

I have often wondered that myself. If Jesus is God, who was watching over the world?

Cuz it's hard to turn a dozen polythiestic religions into a giant cash cow monotheism without a few major compromises... Paul was bound to screw up a few details here and there...
