Why do christians always have to resort to the bible rather than being able to use logic, reason and observation for their answers?

As an atheist, I hear so many people saying they have "experienced" God which, honestly, sounds silly to me.
So I want to know, EXACTLY, what it was that occurred that could not have been explained as anything OTHER THAN a god or supernatual deity. Not good timing, not a natural phenomenon, not good medical skills or hallucinations or dreams.. but GOD.

So, if you have ever had a personal experience with God, or Jesus (please no tortilla-stories), or any other supernatural being, can you please tell me EXACTLY what happened?

Thank you, and be descriptive.

why do people expect us to know where the universe came from without a super telescope 3 galaxies long + warp drive.

Common with silly questions from the religious to justify their silly notions that we were all created by the giant space octopus, the sun god, Zeuas and Aphrodite or Thor

How the hell are we supposed to know when we dont even have galatic travel with warp drive let alone intergalatic travel , both in a few hours to croass a galaxy?

So how do we accurately get answers on how everything got created or was just there?

"I was taught in school Pluto is a planet

Why is what I was taught all wrong now

Is that what your science is all about

That, and A-BOMBS

May one strike your city, maybe that'll make you realize what SCIENCE is about."

Ah, the Pluto thing gets me most of all. Scary that science and technology progress while religion remains stagnant, eh?

Like I said, I'm Catholic and being Confirmed in May- but I don't have a saint for my name. I want to do a female who is a patron of one of these things:
-cats
-dogs
-nature
-animals
-veterianrians
-compassion for all things

I've looked EVERYWHERE- on every site and in every book. I'm losing hope, and time.

I'm also doing a project where I have to do reserch on three saints. I've already done St. Francis of Assisi and Catherine of Bologna (a good artist, in which I am.) I nead one more saint!!! THIS WILL SAVE MY LIFE!!!!!!

How is it possible that the human mind correlates so well with the structures of the world that people can make sense of the world? If the world developed by pure chance, it would be highly unlikely that human experience would mirror the reality of the world in the way we usually assume it does.

Can someone tell me the context of 1 Corinthians 7. It talks about us being better off if we don't marry-we would be as he is. It doesn't say it is a sin or bad-just easier if we don't for people who are married have many troubles. 7:9 says something interesting-But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.

Any examination of languages will show that meanings change frequently and unpredictably. Often original meanings are lost entirely. (For an example of the challenge, just try reading Shakespeare without any interpretive notes. And he was writing only 500 years ago in a language that we call our own.)

Since the Bible texts are many thousands of years old, what effect does the fluidity of language have on modern Biblical interpretation? How certain can we be that our interpretations are correct?

Am I sinning? In other words, the Bible doesn't say you have to study every Tues. morn, so am I seeing sin where there isn't one, or should I continue to study then for the rest of my life.? Am I imposing conditions that God has not by making giving up this habit a sin?

I ask because a preacher I knew said he had made that promise and if he broke it , that would be sin.
