I am looking for opinion on why people rely on th grace of god = example I can live my life however I want to and if there is a god he will forgive me. There are no consiquences to actions. The bible has commandments so why don't so called christians follow them?

I joined the LDS church because of the guide lines that made the most sense. If was the only church that I found that didnt say eat drink and be marry and god would save you.

I am a Mormon and for all you Mormon bashers out there save your comments for yourself I am looking for intelligent opinions.
I dont care to hear about twenty wives or anything to that effect. This is not the practice nowadays and 150 years ago does not matter. Its just like the catholic crusades but no one says hey they ran around killing all types of people BUT they are justified. Maybe there is a catholic out there who can explain why babies go to hell if there not baptized? hmmmm

If I am correct your actions define your character.

Heres' a thought....If you don't get baptized you are not recognized as a Christian/Catholic, therefore you are not welcomed into heavan? Is this correct? If so...and a poor infant has died before being bapitized....they are not accepted into heaven?

well, I personally found catholicism to be pretty irrational as a religion ..because, I don't see the relationship because catholicism and the real teachings of the bible, they seem to teach different things ....there are 2 kinds of christian , those who place their faith in the church, and others in the bible ...But, there is something good about catholicism anyway, I found it more spiritual than dogmatic ....Although some of its teaching might appear non sense ...but, it is the one who gives more freedom of thinking in christianity .....without emphasizing on the dogmas but instead on love and good life ...!! what do you think ?

I hear Christians talking all the time of how they are not perfect, they sin etc. despite their best efforts.

If they sin, shouldn't they be called sinners?
If you sin, isn't that what you are?

Just assuming that God is real, even though evolution might be reality, just going on a limb here for a minute,

What possible holes could exist in the following theory?

We are not here because of free will, we are not here for any other reason but to learn.

We do everything our own way, we learn the evils of not obeying God. God's ultimate plan is to save all mankind.

But he knows men will never serve him till they exhausted all things in their power to try without him.

So, he puts us here, to do as we wish, & after the world is groaning under the burden of their free will decisions, we see why it is good to do what God wants.

In effect, this earth is just a learning ground. When God finally "fixes" things, we will be more than happy to obey, seeing how our own decisions caused pain & destruction.

What could be wrong with this theory, I mean, just assuming that God is for a minute, other than what if evolution is true?

Mutations are copying errors in the genes that nearly always lose information. Is there an example where this is not the case? It seems "Raw energy cannot generate the specified complex information in living things. Undirected energy just speeds up destruction." hence cancer.

It is usually wrong to kill another human because our life is made precious by respecting other's lives and that other person has value and a place in society. Theft is wrong because another has worked and acquired an item and it may be of special value or importance to them. Both basically because we wouldn't want them done to us. Adultery is wrong because it violates a trust from a loved one and can bring disease and illegitimate children into a home. There is a real reason that wrong is wrong. Why are each of the commandments wrong? Why is homosexualtiy wrong? "God said so" is a cop out. If it is wrong, it is wrong for another reason too. I would like to hear why?

I know of a lot of people who are Christian and have gotten married really young and really quickly. I know when you're a Christian you're not ment to have pre-marital sex, but come on what is really wrong with living together first, saves a lot of heartache in the long run, if you marry the wrong person. I'm sure God would accept that as a fair enough situation.

Why do foolish atheists always bring up the claim that you can't prove that God exists?

Hello?! God exists outside of space and time. What is my evidence for this? Common sense.

God does not let us know for sure whether or not he exists because it is part of a test.

That's why it's called faith. What's hard to understand about that?

I just came across this lovely Christian sight proving that God defeats science. My favorite line is this one: "The world uses science, logic, and mathematics to argue that our Bible is wrong. We also have used science and logic to fight back, but it has not brought us victory. Why have we achieved so little with all our efforts? May I suggest that we have used the wisdom of the world to fight the world. That can never bring victory because their wisdom is false."

THIS is an example of Christians fighting back with science and logic? ~~*Giggles and then cowers in the corner*~~

I said before, the FALL OF MAN can only be understood as a punishment for the moral trangression of Adam and Eve. Christians love to deny that, which is why they strive for heaven on earth instead of the asceticism that would be required of their faith. The point is, WHY bring children into this world when YOUR BIBLE says our mortal lifes are a punishment after the Fall. If you think life isn't a punishment, then we would still be in Eden.

Just shows how ignorant cHRISTIANS ARE OF THEIR FAITH
