I'm just curious to hear from some people who identify as both Christian and as gay. I am Christian, and I have many gay friends. I know (or know of) a few very strong Christians, who also happen to be homosexual. I just want to hear about some of your experiences. What do you believe about homosexuality? What is it like? Is it easy to be open at church and still be accepted?

Again, I just want to hear opinions, and honest thought. I don't want any controversy here. : )

then why is it necessary to believe in him?

Should not everyone be forgiven, regardless of what they believe?

NOTE: I am not being antagonistic! I really want to know!

Why do some religions feel like it is their place to try and get people to believe what they believe? Some religions don't do this at all, while others do it all the time? Don't they understand it is rude and annoying?

Every moment we live, we have the opportunity to be offended, wronged, attacked. Isn't this our own fault for not killing ourselves before it happened?

I know, it sounds awful, but prove me wrong with logic. Please.

Reading the Bible presents impossible things.

We re told that God takes a rib from Adam (what, 3oz or so?), then creates a fully grown woman named Eve (maybe 120? 140? lbs)

You cannot get something from nothing. It reads like a fairy tale. The common explanation is, well, God can do anything.

This seems no different to me than saying Zeus or any other mythological God can throw lightning bolts, & do anything as well.

How is it even "common" sense, when it just isn't logical because of the impossibilities?

How does impossible become "logically true", or "the only explanation that makes sense".

I don't get it! It does NOT make sense to me to say you can take 1 small rib & make something thousands of times its weight out of it.

Next, they will try to prove that because we do actually have a sun shining over our heads, Ra the Egyptian sun God actually exists? Hey, PART of that story is true, cause you can "see" the "evidence" can't you?

Please tell me how all this mess is "logical"

If mortality is God's punishment for the fall, why on earth would you bring more people into this world who may or may not be saved? If Christians are right, should we just all remain celibate, and repent? What sense does it make for people to be "fruitful" when life is a punishment?

True story. Jesus clearly taught those of us who wish to follow Him to Love our neighbors. Some of my neighbors are homosexuals so he must have been telling me to Love them.

Normally, we use our memory. But is memory reliable? How can we prove this? By saying, "I remember one time when I lost my keys but then remembered where I left them?" Isn't that using memory to prove memory is reliable? That's circular reasoning. Any suggestions?

If the Church predates the Bible, then doesn't it make sense that tradition and scripture are equal? If the Church does not predate the Bible, how come the New Testament was compiled much later (by the Church)?

What if god actually eats our souls when we die? And he wants us to be good, because "good" souls taste better than "bad" souls? And he has been misleading everyone all these years? Can you prove that this is not so? How would you know that god is not a great deceiver, so powerful you cannot detect it?

It is a very well written book giving a different perspective about death and dying. I was wondering what others thought about this book, because I found it very interesting.
