then why is it necessary to believe in him?

Should not everyone be forgiven, regardless of what they believe?

that is what the grace of Jesus is, it is a gift given to you, and all humanity, but you have to accept it to get ant good out of it.

Gratvol, to answer your question, I need to ask you a question: if, under the Levitical sacrificial system, a sinner refused to repent, or refused to believe God would forgive him, would God accept the sacrifice, even if it was unblemished? I hope you would agree that the answer is "no."

Similarly, while Jesus gave Himself as a perfect, willing sacrifice, only those who repented of their sins and BELIEVED that He can heal them of sin are covered by the atoning blood He shed. Anyone who refuses to repent and believe is not covered.

This is the reason why John 3:16-17 tells us Jesus died for EVERYONE, whether they believe in Him or not, but it's that belief that saves:

16 For God so loved the WORLD that He gave His only begotten Son, that WHOEVER BELIEVES in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the WORLD through Him might be saved.

Please pick up a Bible and read it.Jesus died to take our sins away. DIED for US. To take OUR sins away And that's not just or fair to us??? He did this out of love. No person forced or made Him do this. He did it of His own accord. Believing Him means trusting Him. He offers us salvation but it's up to us to accept it. We accept it by trusting, believing, honoring Him. People in Heaven have NO fear of those in Hell. One can't reach the other. Jesus died to save us from going to hell. Why would He let those in hell bother us? If He did, it would be like He died for nothing. If a fireman saves a person from a burning fire, is the fireman going to take the person he saved to a different fire and throw him into it? The Heaven & Hell thing is about the same way.

You mean do what we want with impunity?

Why is it necessary to put criminals behind bars? If Jesus died for the sins of humanity, why don't we just leave rapists and murderers alone? Why not just forgive them?

The person who believes in Jesus understands the gravity of the offense of sin and appreciates the gift of Christ's sacrifice of atonement. The believer values that the gift removes the separation and reconciles fellowship with God. Christ's death is not a magic saving potion for those who do not (and never would) turn to God in trust and love.

Because He died for our sins, we are able to have eternal life,but...
God even tells us in the Bible- He loves us so much that He gave his only son so that whoever
believes in Him,will not die but have eternal life.
So, just going by what God said himself, you have to believe in him so you can live forever in heaven. Unless of course you want to burn forever in hell instead-sute your self.
I suppose it's up to you.

The forgiveness that is in Jesus Christ is conditional upon "repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ" (Acts 20:21). It is a gift that God offers to everyone, but individuals must receive it by repenting and trusting in Christ, or they will remain dead in their sins. No one has biblical grounds to continue in sin, assuming that they are safe just because Jesus died on the cross.

I am closing in on my degree in Theology and I have learned a lot from many traditions. Some I would not have expected too. But in no way can I reconcile how anyone can make sense of what they call theology in Christianity well enough to believe in it.

You asked a question and Christians answer it according to what we believe God has spoken to mankind. So if you have a complaint it is with God not us. God's grace is freely given to those who accept His Son. Without the Son you face God with all your sins alone. With the Son, He takes your sins away. This is our belief according to Holy Scripture. No sense in arguing with Christians about it, take it to God.

Yes, He died for all of our sins. You have a decision to make. You need to accept Him as your Lord and Savior. We cannot make it to heaven without Him. We are forgiven if we ask forgiveness. : )

NO. He need not to be responsible of saving people who do not ask forgiveness and ask Him to save them. : )
