Here, that one-man performance that defies reality, that bastion of brilliance,...your friend and mine... ladies & gentleman I bring YOU... Mr. EarlD!!! Woot! Woot!:
"I was taught in school Pluto is a planet
Why is what I was taught all wrong now
Is that what your science is all about
That, and A-BOMBS
May one strike your city, maybe that'll make you realize what SCIENCE is about."
Ah, the Pluto thing gets me most of all. Scary that science and technology progress while religion remains stagnant, eh?

Um, Fireball, could you at least show some consideration by actually READING the question so that your response has some semblance of validity?

I am going to assume that Mr Earl D. Walks around naked, never uses a car, doesn't live in a building of any sort, hell he can't even uses a microphone. The man must never get sick, or use medication, he can't even enjoy a quite brandy after a long day of sermoning. Everything we do is down to science. It may not have been considered science when it was done but it was. There would have been some sort of experiement. If I eat these red berries, I get sick, if I eat the blue berries I don't - let's eat more blue berries is an experiment.
And fireball, computers and the internet is science. So if you think that science won't save you then you best go back t oforest and start eating those re berries.

Harry Emerson Fosdick:
"The fact that astronomies change while the stars abide is a true analogy of every realm of human life and thought, religion not least of all. No existent theology can be a final formulation of spiritual truth. "
Ah, yes, it's just awful how when scientists learn more they correct themselves. What WILL the world come to if we don't cling tenaciously to past incomplete, incorrect knowledge....
~sigh~
Luddites. They're still around....

Ah well. I just have to assume that is a Y!A persona he chooses to wear. Otherwise, just what sort of sad life must he live?
Please don't let it get to you MTB. Just think. Impermanence is all. So perhaps one day Mr Earl will come up with a really good answer to a Q. And none of us will want to miss that, will we?
Keep "Being Excellent to Each Other" everyone!

Ask most American soldiers whether they believe in science or God and they will reply God, which means they don't kill in the name of science. And they certainly don't kill to defend their country, because Saddam didn't even have any WMDs!

LOL@ the "science won't save you" quote above.
No, no, science won't save anyone. That silly science didn't get rid of things like polio or gonorrhea or heck, the plague.
Nah, science won't save anyone.
