Am I sinning? In other words, the Bible doesn't say you have to study every Tues. morn, so am I seeing sin where there isn't one, or should I continue to study then for the rest of my life.? Am I imposing conditions that God has not by making giving up this habit a sin?

I ask because a preacher I knew said he had made that promise and if he broke it , that would be sin.

Mathew 5:33-37 Well, in his Sermon on the Mount, Jesus Christ said: “Just let your word Yes mean Yes, your No, No.” Jesus was counseling against the custom some then had of lightly and indiscriminately making oaths. If you ask god for forgiveness he will forgive you and he won't hold you to this oath.
However if you could see the things that I see in the scripture then you would never stop studying God's word. Let me show you how interesting the bible can be?
For example read Mathew 6:9,10 and think about what it says?
To make God's name Hallowed or to keep it holy this means use it or sanctify it, not the title God, but the name Psalms83:18 kjv
Now Jesus also said let God's Kingdom come and his will to be done on earth?
Now read Revelation 21:3,4, also Daniel 2:44 Are these the things that the prayer was talking about, also if his will is to be done on earth then read Psalms 37:9-11,29, and Mathew 5:5 Remember what 2 Tim 3:16 say? Ask any question that is Bible related and I will show you where to look. gemhandy@hotmail.com

Numbers 30:2
If a man vow a vow unto the Lord, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth.

For those who say this isn't a sin...
YOU'RE WRONG.
there's your Scripture.

it can be a sin in two ways that I can see. One, you are not being true to your word, in turn, you make yourself out to be a liar, and lying is a sin. The second way is, what does your conscience tell you? Do you think it is a sin. If it is going against your conscience, they it is also a sin. Our conscience tells us right from wrong.

It's not a sin.

It's ok to break promises, simply because you are a human.

Now, God knows you do not have the ability to knwo all & that humans change their minds.

Due to that fact alone, it is ok to break your promises because, you cannot fortell the future like God, & sometimes you have no way to keep it all the time like God simply because you have things you have to do

The fact is people ARE sinners. God has a perfect circle, He IS perfect, His laws are perfect, He is just, He created us, He IS life, So when we break ANY, (ANY!!!) of His laws we are OUTSIDE of His circle! We are OUTSIDE of life... We need to know that to be saved we need Jesus Christ. We dont even realize all the sins that we do, and will never. Seek Him...

Faith is needed. Besides " God helps those that help themselves."
Some people need counseling, conferences, medication.
I saw my uncle die in my house because of smoking. The night before he stepped on the box of cigarettes and screamed " You have destroyed my live!" He left my aunt and my cuisine to survive him. He was 47 years of age.

if broken promises equal sin, we are in big trouble. god said...ask and you shall receive. i have asked for healing for a particular issue, and the healing hasnt come. i have asked for many things that havnt materialized. maybe we are looking at things all wrong.

honey we are all sinners, just ask for God's forgiveness and
"begin again". If you forget on Tues. morning, do it when you remember, and the more you do it the more aware you are of God's presence, and that's a good thing.
