After all there are plenty of mocking, insulting unbelievers here. Is it better for Christians to leave such individuals alone?

Yes they should.

If peopel wanted God, they would ask for him?

Shoving God down their throats while beating them over the head with Bibles doesn't help the cause!

I think it's saying not to do miracles "beat yourself in the head" to try and gain an unbelievers faith. If one were to preform miracles to bring another to fait, they would just keep wanting more and more miracles. It's like a person saying "make my amputated finger grow back and then I'll believe in God" Why would such a person stop there? Why not ask for more miracles before believing in God? Tell them all you can about God. Help them any way you can. But, if they still disbelieve, turn away from them. You gave it your best shot. The rest is up to them. Don't waste your time and talent on those that are turning you away anyway.

I think that verse is speaking more directly to situations we may encounter directly face to face. If you are swayed easily by others you should stay away from them-even though this is not what they are talking about really. There are always going to be bad examples of christains-hey we are human. But the point is be strong in what you believe and don't give sinners a foothold.

Yes. Walk away from them. if your spirit is rocky then they will cloud your heart and fill it full of pain. Only those whom are pure in the belief of God (Preacher, saints, clergy etc.) should attempt to deal with the unrighteous. For the rest of us i think its prudent to keep on walking letting the insults and lies of the unrighteous to fall by the way side.

There are some questions I report as abusive and do not waste my time answering. Perhaps these swine are here to eat some wisdom. We may actually help them.

Let God's Spirit guide you.

ANSWER a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes."
(Proverbs 26:4,5)

I believe I do so. : )

Sometimes answer that kind of questions because a lot of people follow them, read their responses and other people's answers and they have not quite made up their mind yet. : )
