Everything from homosexuality to the war in Iraq...

I mean just look at the "do you agree" questions from them in the Religion and Spirituality section...

Very few of the questions pertain to specific items of their religion... we all know what their book says better than they do half the time...

(sorry for the rant, but IT IS a question that I would like a real answer to...)

An irrationalist denies causation at some point in the world process. The non christian rationalist is in a quandary. On the one hand, he wants to affirm that there are complete explanations of events; therefore, he wants to honor a first cause. On the other hand, if the rationalists honors the first cause, he will have to cease his rational quest and submit his mind to the conclusion implicit in the first cause. He wants to always to have the privilege of asking why. But if he does the possibility of a first cause, he becomes indistinguishable from the irrationalists.

Christians and Muslims call themselves Monotheistic. Well, how can you be monotheistic if you believe God and the Devil are 2 different people. Think about the characteristics of the devil -

He can control or influence the actions and decisions of mortals.
He rules over his own eternal realm.
He is immortal.
He can manifest himself to mortals (ex: tempting Christ)
Without him God's plan could not come to fruition as God/Good/Righteousness could not triumph.

If you believe that the God and the Devil are 2 different people - do you not believe in two supernatural beings? Maybe I am off in the concept of deity, but he sure sounds like a God to me. At the very least we are talking about a demi-god here! What do you think?

visited them on their deathbed? I have. They were so humbled because they knew they didn't deserve the visit and it was at that time they understood the True value of the Church. When they are staring the Truth in the face about their life they understand.

A couple days, I answered a handful of questions in the television section, and now I'm stuck with this orange tag saying I'm a top contributor for television! But every day, I answer tons of R&S questions. But do I get recognized for this? No! What's up with that?

can someone please tell me why there are so many religions? If you ask jewish ppl they say there are only one true god.If you ask christians There is only one but wate there is only one but there really is two,but they are both just one.Hmm sounds fishy to me.If you ask budist or hyndu or any other religios faction the answer is differant.I myself beleive that maybe just maybe there are no gods and maybe just maybe Darwin was right.I also think in a 100 years we will think of todays religions as we think of the greek gods just legends.Anyone agree with me or am I headed for hell....

I've noticed that some people on here are saying how athiests are ignorant and just want to be able to commit their 'wrongdoings' without guilt... athiests do have guilt, they just don't need a book to tell them what to do. why do people always think that athiests are stupid for not believing in god? what's wrong with thinking for yourself and living by your own standards?
and if you believe in god, then how is there a god? when was he created? who created him? and why do you follow the bible when it was written 300 years after jesus died?

I have noticed non-believers love to use "Judge not, that ye be not judged" Matthew 7:1 when they're told about their wrong. I can only assume they haven't also read John 7:24 where Jesus states: "Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgement."

I am told, the reason we are here, is to choose whether or not to serve God.

Free will, ya know, so God doesn't have robots. Only thing is, I got 2 things to say about that.

Humans have no perfect knowledge, so make imperfect decisions. This means that allowing imperfect people to make imperfect decisions to decide their fate in heaven or hell is also an imperfection on the part of a supposedly "perfect" God.

Secondly, if he is "love", then he will want us to be happy?
I do not care for heaven or hell. Don't tell me I hate God, I do not, I don't hate him, but I don't love him. Same way about Satan.

I am here in this world. I exist. Waaah, cool huh? Nothing to do. I see no reason to create someone who never wanted to be here, then demand they choose heaven or hell & call that free will.

I just want to eternally sleep & die when life is over. no more problems. I don't care about this God hiding & cursing man to work by the sweat of his brow stuff.

I just want to finally have rest?

If God created everything then surely he created the belief that God doesn't exist... Surely he created the evidence that supports evolution... Or are you blaming everything inexplicable on poor Satan? If it can't be explained... Satan did it!

I traced it back to Russia and then Switzerland. It also went back across Europe. Then as I went back further I was like " OMGosh!! My Greatest grandparents were Adam and Eve !! " I was like, " Dude !! "!! I was like " Im royalty!! My Daddys God! ". I was like " woww!! ". Then I looked out the window and saw these apes swinging in trees and eating bananas. Were they any relationship to any of you guys ? Do these primal hairy ones resemble any of your features ? Could it be ? I asked them to sing Pavoratti or play Bethoven...noone was able to squeak out a thing. Whats up guys ???? ( also...BTW what are you doing reading religious questions ?? ) Hmmmmmmmmmm?

Speaking hypothetically only of course....
If there was absolute, undeniable, 100% irrefutable evidence that the Big Bang happened and that God did not exist, would you give up your belief in him?
Like wise should the same thing happen but instead prove beyond a shodow of a doubt that there really was a God (and I am not going to specify which one in particular, only that there was one), would you then start to believe?

Please don't write long diatrabes about how the Big Bang will never be proven because the is really a God, or how there can't be a God because of the big bang. It is a hypothetical question.
