visited them on their deathbed? I have. They were so humbled because they knew they didn't deserve the visit and it was at that time they understood the True value of the Church. When they are staring the Truth in the face about their life they understand.

I don't know about speaking against the Church per se. But I read your question and thought I'd pipe in.

My priest shared this personal story with me.

Fr. S was walking the halls of a hospital. Along the walls was a large black family. Due to the shortage of rooms/space; patients were in hallway. The family saw Fr. S. and rushed up to him and said "Father, our father has spoken so highly of the Catholic church all his life. The beauty of the Mass, the structure, the priests he knew as a child would you be so kind to bless him?" Fr. S. approached the man, who was according to the family in a deep coma. Fr. S. proceeding to due the Extreme Unction, the old man's eys popped open and his face beamed and said "Thank you!" so loud people turned to look his way. And then he died with the most beautiful smile on his face.

No...I had a different experience with a Catholic priest and a Baptist minister. I told them of the hope I have of living forever and that they too can learn the truth about what God wants from all of us. They both thanked me with tears. The priest left the priesthood. The preacher came back each day to my son's hospital room and listened while I taught him about the glorious good news about the Christ and the Kingdom of God.

The poor hopeless thing you trapped him in the end but to no avail. He had a joyous life of freedom from Christ. What matter if he was trapped just before he died it was all over for him by then anyway.

The dying person was happy to have a visitor, if they were Catholic they probably were comforted, if they weren't they just had a visitor.

There is a old saying "there is no such thing as an atheist in a foxhole".

I think taking priests to dying people not of your faith is a despicable thing to do.
