I am told, the reason we are here, is to choose whether or not to serve God.

Free will, ya know, so God doesn't have robots. Only thing is, I got 2 things to say about that.

Humans have no perfect knowledge, so make imperfect decisions. This means that allowing imperfect people to make imperfect decisions to decide their fate in heaven or hell is also an imperfection on the part of a supposedly "perfect" God.

Secondly, if he is "love", then he will want us to be happy?
I do not care for heaven or hell. Don't tell me I hate God, I do not, I don't hate him, but I don't love him. Same way about Satan.

I am here in this world. I exist. Waaah, cool huh? Nothing to do. I see no reason to create someone who never wanted to be here, then demand they choose heaven or hell & call that free will.

I just want to eternally sleep & die when life is over. no more problems. I don't care about this God hiding & cursing man to work by the sweat of his brow stuff.

I just want to finally have rest?

P.S. Only a dictator would force a man or woman to choose their 2 choices, without really caring what they want in the first place.

You sound weary...and I have been there and done that. I don't like some of the answers given; especially the ones about having self pity or 'just snap out of it'...But, that is how those people have coped and, I assume, they really want to help.

Your question/s are difficult to track....the analogy that comes to my mind is 'Frankenstein's monster'...he comes to the doctor/creator and tells him: I am lonely, ugly, scared and really unhappy with you for making me !!!! WE are all frankensteins monster; we are here, in a school of life, that has several sets of rules and it is tough work to sort out what God's will actually is. Did you know that the russian tsar, Peter the great, made a huge scandal when he shaved his beard? The belief was: it's God's will that it grows, don't touch it. LOL

Nevertheless, here we are: what are we going to do about it: some 'thinkers' decided: it all amounts to nil / nothing = nilism. Some decided, our choices while alive and any legacy we leave is how to live (and there is no God nor those other things...we go into oblivion). Some decided, I don't like the doctor/creator...so, I will simply wish him away = atheists.

Some just stay bewildered and confused = the agnostics.
Some spend a lifetime in the pursuit of pleasure = hedonism and paganism (I think I could be a dam good pagan; all that guiltless sex, but the rituals and other requirement turn me off). And some give up...Don't give up, it is spiritual suicide.

As Einstein, that horney little dude, said...God is subtle. He is a mass of contradictions and paradox' - As M. Scott Peck said: " he/she/it is a little wild you know"...

But, the rules of the game appear to be: you can't sit on the fence; if God is not empowering your life (read, Jesus invited in) then (and you may be a very moral and good person) but, you belong to your own self /ego and that leaves you outside of God's will and vulnerable to the machinations of God's mortal enemy's 'the evil one's"...

So, good grace in finding your way out of your hurting place. A hint: Pleasure is the intermission between acts of pain/problems. Judy Garland sold millions of records crying to know why 'if birds can fly over the rainbow' why can't I/ ? And the answer is: cause Judy, you ain't a bird.

Man is a dragon: a snake with wings. Bound to the earth, but with the capacity of flight and freedom and exaltedness.

God is love....God is a fire....It is a terrible thing to approach the Living God...

God was put here to keep all sinners in line. Otherwise we would probably have a society full of monkeys not knowing the right from the wrong. It is really a suppressing ideal for all that may have the urge to deny the 10 commandments. If you really think about it, the top 10 are the hardest to resist. I choose to go my own path and do what I feel is the right thing but sometimes I stray and do the wrong things. I don't feel as though I am going to hell though. Cause I choose to believe in nothing but myself. And hopefully I will die without regrets. And no doubts as to how I have lived. In other words I am living a happy healthy life. Without the fear of God or Satan in me.

Good Luck finding the real you. It has taken me 40 years to do so.

Im not sure if your question is a question. Sounds like you're convinced.

However, God is love. Look inside yourself and you will find God.

I don't think you have to choose heaven or hell.

What God wants is simple. You live your life the best way you can and try and respect all persons and things around you.

What happens after you die is up to God, not you.

As long as there is life there is always hope. If you seek your final rest before your time then how will you know what might have been.

In the bible Job suffered for 7 years BUT then he got back more land and property and loved ones and happiness than ever before and we got a timeless story about suffering that never would have occurred if he had offed himself.

We chose to come to earth, God didn't force us.

Just because you want to stop existing won't make it happen. 'the end' as we see it on earth is a continuation of who and what we really are...Eternal children of Heavenly Father.

Time is man-made. You are your soul not only your body.

He knew for us to be truly happy we would have to choose for ourselves especially when it's hard.

Well it sounds to me like you are a poor me baby. God wants warriors not wimps. If you want real truth dig for it. Study God's Word, and not mans. Don't listen to what some dumb preacher says. Study His Word for yourself. Ask Him for wisdom in understanding. Do it. Do it today.

Y'know, I struggle with the same stuff.
I meditated for years, and had some interesting insights....
Namely, that this - right here, right now - has the potential to be heaven or earth. Its up to us which we make it. its simply an emotional attitude in reponse to situations.
God wants us to be happy, but if we chose to be sad. angry, etc...thats alright with him too....he doesnt go out of his way to change attitudes, y'know?

Go see conversations with god - I saw that, and I was like..."y'know, thats almost exactly what I've gotten out of my meditations"
Good luck - and peace
