You can pray to regain your eyesight. God will answer all your prayers in his time not yours. So, have patients and tarry on God and you will be fine. Here is a little story from Acts 9: 1-19 that shows if you follow and believe in God that all things are possible. Even to regain your eyesight.
Acts 9:1-19
1.) Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord's disciples. He went to the high priest (2) and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any there who belonged to the Way (a name for Christianity), whether men or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem. (3) As he meared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. (4) He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?"
(5) "Who are you, Lord?" Saul asked.
"I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting," he replied, (6) "Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do."
(7) The men traveling with Saul stood there speechless; they heard the sound but did not see anyone. (8) Saul got up from the ground, but when he OPENED his eyes he could see nothing, So they led him by the hand into Damascus. (9) For three days he was blind, and did not eat or drink anything.
(10) In Damascus there was a disciple named Ananias. The Lord called to him in a vision, "Ananias!"
" Yes Lord," he answered.
(11) The Lord told him, "Go to the house of Judas on Straight Street and ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is PRAYING. (12) In a vision he has seen a man named Ananias come and place his hands on him to restore his sight."
(13) "Lord," Ananias answered, " I have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to your saints in Jerusalem. (14) And he has come here with authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on your name."
(15) But the Lord said to Ananias, "Go! This man is my chosen instrument to carry my name before the Gentiles and their kings and before the people of Isreal. (16) I will show him how much he must suffer for my name."
(17) Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hand on Saul, he said, "Brother Saul, the Lord---Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here---has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit. (18) Immediately, something like SCALES FELL FROM SAUL'S EYES, AND HE COULD SEE AGAIN. He got up and was baptized, (19) and after taking some food, he regained his strength.
I hope this has helped. All things are possible through Jesus Christ. Just have faith!

You can pray for yourself too, not just other people, and don't you think God would want you to have better eye sight? I think so. I think prayer is more for us instead of God, because He knows everything and we're still learning.

In mid-adulthood I lost my eyesight and spent a considerable amount of time legally blind. I had to be led from place-to-place. I spent about a year praying almost continuously, really "banging the throne". After visiting numerous doctors who told me my case was hopeless, I visited the University of Wisconsin Hospitals in Madison. I don't even reside in Wisconsin, but I felt drawn there.
Following complicated surgery at UW, sight was restored to one eye. I am still blind in the other eye. But it was like BEING BORN ALL OVER AGAIN! Believe it or not, I now have 20/25 vision in that eye, nearly perfect. The surgeons in Madison are astounded. They thought they could help me, but they were hoping I might be able to see large objects at close distances. But I can read the fine print on the back of a Tylenol bottle! The doctors are calling me their "miracle patient".
But it wasn't the doctors that did the miracle. It was the grace and love of the Lord Jesus Christ! I love to tell this account because it's the best way I know of to glorify his beautiful and awesome name!
Keep on praying! Pray with a true heart. Jesus works miracles today, I can assure you!

It is always ok to ask/pray to get help. Apart from the question whether he will help you or not, prayer itself creates a power in yourself, it boosts your metabolism and actually can support healing process. It is scientifically proven especially with chronic disease like hypertension, diabetes etc. So why not for your eyes? Go on, I say a prayer for you too.

Pray for the ability to deal with your problem and accept it. It would be wonderful if all our problems could be healed now but it just isn't time. we have to endure the world the way it is now and stay faithful till God gets rid of death and sickness on the entire earth.
Your other option...corrective surgery if or when your old enough.

You can pray for anything that you desire, it doesn't always mean you will get it though. But,you cannot receive if you do not ask, so ask, and believe with all your heart.

The most common of all prayer is for one's self !!
The unending list of "give me" !!
One's prayers should be directed at the needs of OTHERS !!
God does not have to be reminded of OUR individual needs and weaknesses--- He knows --- and for whatever the purpose -- we are as we are ---and where we are----as perfect placement for His perfect Will !! This should never be second guessed !!

Sure you can but what if God gave you poor eyesight because He wants you to wear glasses?
Are you willing to wear corrective lenses for Jesus?
