A couple days, I answered a handful of questions in the television section, and now I'm stuck with this orange tag saying I'm a top contributor for television! But every day, I answer tons of R&S questions. But do I get recognized for this? No! What's up with that?

It is more difficult here. There are a ton of people here who know a great deal about the Bible and Koran who seem to do nothing but answer questions on this site. I do not know how I am staying here. I am too busy doing other things to stay on for very long ever. I am glad that you are a Top Contributor in the other section. I spend some time answering questions in other sections also. Have a great evening and a wonderful Lord's Day!

I think it's kind of insulting in a way....
I mean - which belief system would be best representing the section?
It's like that for all the categories... I find that very few "top contributors" can even respect the terms of service on here... let alone give the right answer.
I expect to see the top contributor tags fade away...
It's also unfair to those of us who ask more than we answer... I have a 16% best answer ratio and I have been here since the site was in Beta... but I'm not a "top anything"...

The yahoo overseers probably would take bribes.
Seriously, I do not understand the big deal of having levels and points and being a Top Contributor.. etc.. Are there cash prizes at the end of the level 7 rainbow? What happens after level 7....does one warp into another dimension? I am not poo-pooing this yahoo forum by any means..I just see many people getting caught up in the glitter at the expense of the truth often times.
However,your situation, as presented, is a mystery to me as well.

I have no idea if it's based on the number of questions you ask, the percentage of Best Answers, or the phase of the moon. There's got to be a determining factor, but I've yet to find out what it is.
I'm a Top Contributor in two sections -- beats the heck out of me how I managed that one. Just keep answering questions, and you'll no doubt end up with TC for this section, as well.

You have to answer a lot and above all you should get maximum best answers in R & S section. The Gentleman 'imacatholic2' is in a unaccessible position of whooping 2279 best answers. and you have to come somewhat near to this. In Religion and Spirituality section mostly questions about Christianity is being asked and I hope you can answer them well and try to be as a TOP CONTRIBUTOR.
Whereas in Mythology & Folklore I am at the TOP since the questions asked here are comparitively less.
Please try answering maximum Best Answers and I feel you can come up and earn TOP CONTRIBUTOR position. Best of luck-

If most of your answers are in R&S, the staff must have fouled up--particularly if you only answered a few TV questions. This thing is so new, that a lot of people are probably not acknowledged for their contributions to particular categories--and may be credited for ones they have had little to do with.
Like with everything else, they should get around to fixing it.

Could be because a lot of people answer questions in the R&S section. Maybe you are THE TV expert.

I think also it's somehow based on knowledgeable answers. (I think that what I saw in the yahoo forum answers.) Really knowing the topic you're answering not just answering. But I could be wrong.
