Christians and Muslims call themselves Monotheistic. Well, how can you be monotheistic if you believe God and the Devil are 2 different people. Think about the characteristics of the devil -
He can control or influence the actions and decisions of mortals.
He rules over his own eternal realm.
He is immortal.
He can manifest himself to mortals (ex: tempting Christ)
Without him God's plan could not come to fruition as God/Good/Righteousness could not triumph.
If you believe that the God and the Devil are 2 different people - do you not believe in two supernatural beings? Maybe I am off in the concept of deity, but he sure sounds like a God to me. At the very least we are talking about a demi-god here! What do you think?

LX V- I feel you but one can not exist without the other. You can not have light without the dark - vice versa. The must co-exist

I completely and totally agree with you, 100%! The Christian Satan is a God.
I'm so glad someone has finally asked this.

They are not two different people!
And they are not even people!
God is God and the devil is a fallen angel.
Devil was created by God.
Devil can't control anything. But they can whisper temptations in a way that you would be tempted...
The devil doesn't rule any realm!
If they can have children then they can die too.
He can't manifest himself, you just watch too many movies! He only can whisper temptations in your ear. That's all he can do.
The devil just told God that I (devil or angel at the time) am your best creation and not humans. I am made of fire and they are made of dust. And I (fire) wouldn't bow down to dust. Then he said to God that he would do anything in his power to show that this "best creation" is not the "best".
And God took him on his challenge and gave him all the time in the world to try to make the "best creation" sin!
Tempting humans to sin is his job!
But look at it this way. God is the creator but the devil didn't create sh*t!

You are way way off in your concept of deity. God is all powerful. Satan is limited in power as are angels. There are many supernatural beings but only one God almighty. Christians and Muslims are monotheistic. Although Muslims think they are praying to God, they are praying to the devil, but nevertheless, theologically they remain monotheistic.

1) his control and influence of the actions and decisions of people is only to a degree, and its only for those who willingly obey him
2) according to Islam satan doesnt rule over anything. The Angels rule over Hell, and the angels do everything that Allah (God) commands them to do
3) he was created by God and God can make him die, so therefore to say that he is divine is incorrect.
4) his manifesting himself to mortals at times doesnt mean that he is god, and its only done by God's permission, but rather, he lives in another realm(the realm of the jinn), and his influence is only in a limited manner, and is only by God's permission
he is not a god, but rather a creation of God, and nothing happens except by His will and permission.
in reality the one who says that satan is a god or a 'demi-god' because of these reasons is in reality the polytheist. But the one who denies divinity for him despite these reasons is a monotheist.

The devil's just a fallen angel. A creation of God. He has no power except what he is given and cannot create, only pervert what God has already created.
You don't need shadows to have light.

Satan was created by God.
If you follow his story in Qur'an, you will find out that he wanted to prove to his creator that he was a better creation than Mankind, and so, did not bow down to Adam when ordered to by God.
Satan got a reprieve from God to show him that he is able to whisper to them and lead them astray, thus proving his point that he is more powerful than humans.
Satan does not have power except over those who allow him to have power. This is a very important point.
Those who follow God and believe in his message are protected from the work of the mischievous Satan.

Definition of monotheistic: believing and worshiping that there is only one god
Definition of polytheist: one who believes and worships in a plurality of gods
Christians worship God and Jesus. Catholics even worship Mary and.
Muslims say daily "there is no one worthy of worship but ALLAH" Muslims do not worship the shaytan (devil) What you are explaining is the christain belief. not the islamic belief

True Christians worship God and God only. Satan is not worshipped by Chrsitians;consequently, we put our faith in God through Jesus Christ only. True Christians don't worship God and Satan.Satan is teh antithesis of God and everything God stands for. Satan is not a diety in the Christian religion. We do not worship Satan at all.
