can someone please tell me why there are so many religions? If you ask jewish ppl they say there are only one true god.If you ask christians There is only one but wate there is only one but there really is two,but they are both just one.Hmm sounds fishy to me.If you ask budist or hyndu or any other religios faction the answer is differant.I myself beleive that maybe just maybe there are no gods and maybe just maybe Darwin was right.I also think in a 100 years we will think of todays religions as we think of the greek gods just legends.Anyone agree with me or am I headed for hell....

It sounds like you are agnostic, one who does not know if god(s) exist or not. Despite what others might tell you, you can definitely lead a full moral life without believing in god(s). Personally, I think that today's religions are about the same as the greek legends, the only difference is that no one believes in the greek myths anymore.

Remember, the only people who go to hell are those who believe it exists in the first place!

I believe that there are many different religions because there are many different ways of conceiving of the universe and the "Divine." These are all models of reality, and perhaps some are better models than others, but they all work to some degree or another. When I say they "work" I guess what I mean is that they help the member of that religion to formulate goals for their lives and reach them. They guide the person through their life. Atheism can certainly do this too.

I'm a Hindu, and we believe that there is one God, but that He makes Himself known to various people in different ways. He has many different forms and names, but he's still ultimately one being.

All this should speak volumes about the validity of any one religion (implying, all, of course). And I see you've implied the thousands of religions and Gods - once mighty and believed - that now lay abandoned and largely forgotten. Hopefully your prediction will prove correct, but more like 200-300 yrs. IMO.

Of course Darwin's right - read Origins and it'll be obvious. And you can't go to Hell except for the ones in Norway, etc.

how many religions? a lot...why are there so many religions? because people believe different things...
by the way, Darwin actually believed in a God...
if a painting has a painter, the universe must have a Creator...so the real question is: What's the truth?

There are many religions because there are many people. When humans become involved, things have a way of becoming messed up and overcomplicated.

Are you going to hell? I don't know, God didn't put me in charge of judging the salvation of others, last I heard God was the only one that can do that with any kind of accuracy.

It has been well said that "religion" is man’s way of trying to deal with his guilt. Different religions have different ways of attempting to rid their adherents of sin and its consequences. They fast, pray, deny themselves legitimate pleasures, or chasten themselves, often to a point of inflicting pain. They do this because they have a concept of what they think God (or "the gods") is like, so they seek to establish their own righteousness, being "ignorant of God’s righteousness." The Good News of the Christian faith is that no one need suffer the pains of religious works. Christ’s blood can cleanse our conscience from the "dead works" of religion (Hebrews 9:14). Jesus took our punishment upon Himself, and He is the only One who can save us from sin and death. See Acts 4:12 and John 14:6.

Don't talk to many Jews do you?

Also evolution does not contradict the divine it supports it.

There are many paths to the divine and religion is a reflection of our interactions with the infinite.

It depends on what you really believe in as you're religion.
How many gods do you think there are?

By the way in Christianity, there is only one true god!
