Is this dealing with not usurping authority over the male?
The woman is created to be a help mate for her spouse, different roles, but equal in importance and respect. Just as man is subject to Christ. I would appreciate any sincere comments to help me with this study. Thanks!

I was thinking about the loss of my grandmother. If science is what so many of you are willing to base your bets on, then why can't we keep people from dying? What makes a personality and why can't we harness that?

What does this verse mean, seeing as how you pray to dead people, but the bible specifically says they dont know...

Ecclesiastes 9:5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.

Hebrews 10:
26For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

28He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

29Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

Romans 6:1
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
14
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
15
What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

We are saved by Faith in Jesus, because of Grace.
Do we not still have work to do?

James 2:14-20

A young boy is having trouble fighting with his sister. His parents get angry and offer him a deal. If he will go for some period of time without fighting and even being nice to his sister then they will take him to Disneyland. However, if he continues to fight and is not nice then he will have to spend that same weekend at home with a babysitter.

The boy considers where his best interests are and chooses to stop fighting and be nice to his sister.

QUESTION - Is this an example of ethical or moral behavior?

I know you all will try to tear me up because of this but here it is - think about what I am saying before you curse me out -

No one knows if there is a God or not. People use God or a belief system to inspire them to get up every morning and do what they feel is right. Some people choose to believe in an ultimate power and some choose not to believe in one at all. But in the end it is all just a belief system to keep you going. So in essence - not believing in God is your God because you use the belief system of there is no God just like others use the belief system of there is a God. What do you think?

... do you consider yourself a biblical literalist? That is to say, do you believe every word of the bible is completely accurate, without hyperbole (I.E. world was literally created in 6 days).

I'm just curious, because from what I've seen, most who are literalists have the type of personality that also causes them to identify completely with one denomination over another (Batptist, Catholic, Lutheran, etc).... while non-denominationals seem more flexible in their beliefs.

Just an informal survey.

A sweeping generalization but nonetheless many creationists view different cultures not based on Jesus Christ to be satanic or "ungodly." Not saying all creationists are like my aunt but she bans any non-Christian material in her house. That means no books about Islam, Harry Potter, Buddhism, etc... My cousin had to hide books from his own mother.

One of my husbands co-workers said he knew a lady who was an jehovah witness who became a christian. She was married with kids and was respected at her church. Her husband devorced her and when she went to court over her kids a bunch of people from the church testified against her lying about her parenting. She lost custody of her children. I have never heard of anything like this. Is this true?

i.e., not tried to inculcate them with your religious beliefs. My experience is that many atheists choose this path, while few, if any Christians do.
