Life, we would be immortal, and know all things as God does

If Adam and Eve od not partake of the forbidden fruit, we wouldn't even be here on this earth. Procreation would not be possible, so we would still be in the premortal without earthly bodies. Adam and Eve would be the only people on this earth. So we would not even be here to have a longer life in the first place.

Yes if they had been obedient they would still be alive today and so would everyone else who ever lived there would be no death in the woprldand we would all be living in haoppiness and peace. But God's purpose will be achieved even so the prpose that he had when he made us was for us not to ever die or have the kind of life like we do today but to have life in peace and happinessthis is what we pray for in the Lords prayer when we ask God to let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Although the Scriptures clearly show that God's toleration of the wicked has its limits, how can we be sure that evil, once eliminated, will not recur? After all, following the Flood of Noah's day, it soon surfaced again to such an extent that God had to thwart mankind's wicked schemes by confusing their language.-Genesis 11:1-8.
Our main reason for confidence that evil will not arise again is that the earth will no longer be ruled by humans as it was soon after the Flood. Rather, it will be ruled by the Kingdom of God. Ruling from heaven, this Kingdom will be earth's sole government. (Daniel 2:44; 7:13, 14) It will act quickly against anyone who attempts to reintroduce evil. (Isaiah 65:20) In fact, it will eventually destroy the very originator of wickedness-Satan the Devil-along with the demons, the wicked angels that followed him.-Romans 16:20.
Additionally, mankind will have no causes for anxiety about food, clothing, shelter, and employment-the lack of which today drives some into a life of crime. Yes, the entire earth will be transformed into a productive paradise with an abundance for all.-Isaiah 65:21-23; Luke 23:43.
More important, the Kingdom will educate its subjects in a peaceful way of life while at the same time raising them to the very pinnacle of human perfection. (John 17:3; Romans 8:21) Thereafter, humankind will no longer have to struggle with weaknesses and sinful tendencies, making perfect obedience to God both possible and delightful, as it was in the case of the perfect man Jesus. (Isaiah 11:3) In fact, Jesus remained loyal to God even in the face of great temptation and torture-things that will be utterly foreign to life in Paradise.-Hebrews

Adam and Eve were immortal beings before they disobeyed God. If there were never any disobedience to God in them or any of the human race since then we would all be immortal and death would never have been part of the equation.

Man is a tri-part being; body, soul and spirit. Our body is the house we live in which will perish. Our soul is the part of us that loves sin and the things of this life. Our spirit is the part of us that wants to love and serve God. We choose to live after the sinful nature or after the spirit.

The sinful nature in scripture is called the "carnal nature." The godly life comes from the "spiritual nature" after it is cleansed through the blood of Christ.

A simple poem says it all quite simply --

Two natures lie within my breast
One is cursed and the other blessed
One I love and one I hate,
But the one I feed will dominate.

By the way - everyone's spirit is immortal. Some of us will be very glad about it when we die and others will not. Our love of God or rebellion against Him will determine our outlook at the point of death and on into eternity. Those who loved Him in this life will be with Him forever in love, joy and peace. The others who rebelled against Him will spend their immortality eternally suffering for it. The wisest and most logical choice is to love and obey Him considering all He has done for us by sacrificing His Only Son to deliver us from sin, death and the Lake of Fire..

free will or live longer .......great question what would have been better.
god put that tree in there for a reason it was to see what choices could be made.
i beleive it was then they realized they were naked and had knowledge they never even knew about
and then they were scared and tried to cover up when god entered there presence.
so by choice we do have knowledge and wisdom
but because sin entered in by eating of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil we know good and bad but more important enters death
but if they just ate from the tree of life they would have still been innocent as a little child but yes they would have been in god presence forever and also lived forever
the knowledge was a gift from god but yet the curse was death but by the atonement of jesus christ who died for our sins has washed away our sins if we get baptized in jesus name and have the baptism of the holy ghost

If man had not sinned, we would be eating of the tree of life and live forever with God. Sin resulted in death. I agree with Debbie R.'s answer, that after Adam, who knows if someone would have sinned - probably. Which is why I do not blame our death on them, because any of us would have probably sinned also if we were created first.

No one actually has the right to say what woul of happened, its like stating that reincarnation is whats happening to us.People can say yes,we would be in heaven,or no,someone else would have. The thing is,we are not supposed to know 4 a reason, its also kinda like asking''WHERE DID THE LORD COME FROM'' no one actually knows, and there are probably good reasons 4 this,If God wanted us to know then he would of told us......
Some interesting answers there though...

Adam and Eve were perfect and under the direction of God would have had everlasting life if they had not allowed Satan to influence their thinking and actions.

I think that sooner or later, someone would of eventually come along and "blew it" ! Adam and Eve represent the types of weaknesses we all have within us, called "human nature". God intentionally allowed Adam and Eve to be subjugated to the craftiness of Satan, the Devil - a "fallen Arch-angel" ! Human beings lack of a relationship with God, as depicted by our first "parents", Adam and Eve, in rejecting God's instruction to them concerning the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Of course God foreknew this lack but He wants His human creation to exercise free moral agency and to come to Him for a relationship with Him, willingly. God drove both, Adam & Eve from the garden of Eden to prevent them from imbibing of the tree of life in their state of sin, and living forever. Today, God, the Father wants a relationship with people, "called" through Jesus Christ. Really; nothing has changed much for thousands of years concerning the state of the condition of the human creation.

I don't know because God said if they ate from the tree of life they would have been immortal. We wouldn't have any pain or suffering whatsoever but if they didn't eat from the tree one of their children would have or somebody would have by now.

I would tend to believe from the longevity of people in the Old Testament that we were originally designed to live forever.
