No one knows anything, christians, jews, aetheist etc. Why do people have to guess about whether their is a god, not a god, evolved from monkeys, etc. What's so hard with saying, " I dont know" ?

I know that scripture speaks of elders being apt to preach and deacons taking care of the duties of things such as church duties, and such, but what does the bible have to say about deacons having the authority and being apt to preach?

This morning my husband a real skeptic in the world of afterlife and such saw a young girl he said maybe ..he didnt see real well but like between 12 and 25 walk past him in a long flannel nightgown this morning in our house. He said it was so real he got up to see who or what it was and of corse there was nothing. What do ya think of this sort of thing and its meaning? Oh by the way...Our house is new...no one has died here. and he is no longer a skeptic, just doesnt know what to think now.

is there something wrong with believing my higher power is magical but also being a practical down to earth homosexual?
Do the "judgemental christians" want me to believe i am deviant, knowing that is wrong? I am confuse as to how one's mind works with such lazy thinking!

It's obvious we have reached a point, similar to that of the mid 1800's. Where 2 camps of ideologies have pretty much declared they have no willingness to live with any sort of respect for the other. In my opinion, I think the 2000 election crossed a threshold that many of us just didn't want to admit happened. Beyond that, all we have been doing now is tugging back and forth over who will take formal control. Both sides realizing just how destructive this would be conflict would become. Yet, I don't see the right wing backing down in wanting to use laws on the books as a basis for greater control in the name of morality. Also to be fair, I don't see the left wing giving up it's victimazation policies to gain votes and influence. I just don't see how much further we can go before it finally breaks.

1) Where did Jesus give instructions that the Christian faith should be based exclusively on a book?

2) Other than the specific command to John to pen the Revelation, where did Jesus tell His apostles to write anything down and compile it into an authoritative book?

3) Where in the New Testament do the apostles tell future generations that the Christian faith will be based solely on a book?

4) If the meaning of the Bible is so clear—so easily interpreted—and if the Holy Spirit leads every Christian to interpret it for themselves, then why are there so many different Protestant denominations, and millions of individual Protestants, all interpreting the Bible differently?

5) How did the early Church evangelize and overthrow the Roman Empire, survive and prosper almost 350 years, without knowing for sure which books belong in the canon of Scripture?

6) Who in the Church had the authority to determine which books belonged in the New Testament canon and to make this decision binding on all Christians? If nobody has this authority, then can I remove or add books to the canon on my own authority?

7) Why do Protestant scholars recognize the early Church councils at Hippo and Carthage as the first instances in which the New Testament canon was officially ratified, but ignore the fact that those same councils ratified the Old Testament canon used by the Catholic Church today but abandoned by Protestants at the Reformation?

8) If the early Church believed in sola Scriptura, why do the creeds of the early Church always say “we believe in the Holy Catholic Church,” and not “we believe in Holy Scripture”?

9) The time interval between the Resurrection and the establishment of the New Testament canon in AD 382 is roughly the same as the interval between the arrival of the Mayflower in America and the present day. Therefore, since the early Christians had no defined New Testament for almost four hundred years, how did they practice sola Scriptura?

10) If Christianity is a “book religion,” how did it flourish during the first 1500 years of Church history when the vast majority of people were illiterate?

I am very satisfied with my wife and her body. I always tell her how beautiful she is but she still wants a boob job. She is very insecure with her boobs. Is there a way I can convince her to not get one. She knows I think she is beautiful and don't agree with cosmetic surgery unless you are disfigured, accident, cancer or something. Is a boob job against God's will? Also, what are negative side effects of a TUBA boob job? That is the one where they go through the belly button.

i dont know what i believe, so this isnt an attack, but one thing i think is that the world would be a little less colorful.. i think all of the different religions in the world help to create unique cultures and traditions which, without it, may also vanish

To preface: I'm a Christian, I love my God with all my heart and I pray that his will be done and I try to live to that end. I've always had an intimately personal relationship with God. I can't imagine feeling any other way.

I just have such problems sometimes connecting with organized religion. I always have, since I was as young as I can remember being, questioned everything that was presented to me in church and Sunday school. I felt guilty about it but couldn't seem to help it. I just can't seem to worship with others weather I feel that they're telling me to worship their way, or weather I feel like I just don't fit in. I don't know what's the cause of this doubt. I feel estranged from other people of my faith and that makes me feel estranged from my faith itself and it HURTS. Is there anyone out there who understands this? Please help!

Sinners go to church to get close to God, and fellowship with other Christians. They get their sins forgiven in church as they know God would really be present. Sin makes a Christian sick. So, you go to the hospital [church] to get well. Are you in agreement or disagreement on all this?

The bible tells women to dress modestly...

Timothy 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

Also tells us not to wear clothing that a man would wear...
Deuteronomy 22:5 The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.

My question is ladies, what does modest mean to you? How do you dress for God? Also, men, do you want your christian wife of now, or in the future, to dress like a lady? Is this important to you?

I like going out and knowing true christians who consider their own hair their glory, have long hair, and all dressed in modest long skirts. This is something that is special to me!
