sex offender confessed before the congregation his sin. He is seeking God and wanted to attend the Church. Some members were concerned about the children but the Pastor decided they he could attend with some restrictions.

What do you think your church you currently attend would do if this happened to them

If not then a picture of Mary the Mother of God is also not idol worship. If you insist on ignoring the Catholic posters that is fine but we have told you repeatedly that the pictures and statues are not what we pray to. If you continue to say that we do you are intentionally spreading false information and that is not a good thing.

I do, I think religion is an excuse for lack of knowledge, and to have religious belief is a way for mankind to explain the unknown. God is more of a theory just like evolution and the big bang. I am empiric agnostic and if there is enough evidence to prove any theory on life, I will believe it. Currently, I think mankind doesn't have the ability to be certain about anything. Do you agree? If God is real why wouldnt He show us His existence? Why would there be so much suffering in the world? From what I know about christianity, people who have never heard of Jesus, will go to hell, simply because of the fact that they know nothing of the Lord. Why would God do that to innocent people? If He knows all of what is, has been and will be, why the need for testing our belief? The outcome is already written in stone so to speak. Does anyone disagree with me AND have logical reasoning? I think religion is also a sort of insurance for the afterlife, but I cant pretend to believe in something

Who needs em?
Maybe in the old days or in places with high illiteracy rates.
Somebody has to read and interpret Bible for them.
But why in the U.S for instance?
People reading levels are high enough to at least read the BIBLE.
It is not a real deep book.
Written by bronze age tribe perhaps but not indecipherable.
The metaphors and similes don't take a whole lot of brain power to interpet.
So why do we still have preachers?

I am agnostic on a good day.

Did you know that heaven and hell are actually right next to each other? They are seperated by a big chain-link fence. Well, one day hell was having a big party and it got a little out of hand. God heard the ruckus and arrived to find his fence completely smashed by the wild partiers. He called the devil over and said "Look, Satan, you have to rebuild this fence." Satan agreed. The next day God noticed that the devil had completely rebuilt the fence...but it was 2 feet further into heaven than before.

"Satan!" beckoned God. "You have to take that fence down and put it back where it belongs!"

"Yeah? What if I don't?" replied the devil.

"I'll sue you if I have to," answered God.

"Sure," laughed Satan. "Where are you going to find a lawyer?"

In Genises we read God telling Adam and his mate Eve, the DAY you shall eat off this tree you shall surley die, and the Devil telling Eve you shall not surely die when you eat from this tree but have ever lasting life.

And Adam lived for another 450 years after eating off that tree, so who lied God or the Devil?

South Park, Family Guy, Aqua Teen, Futurama, Moral Orel, the Simpsons, Robot Chicken, King of the hill, Televsion better said. They seldom if ever mock any other religion. These are shows that I enjoy until I see them make fun of god or Jesus. Also, random people (here on yahoo) saying that Jesus was a hippie and other stupid stuff. If you don't agree with this religion or any other then don't; but don't mock and laugh at it.

I have a King James Version but it makes my head spin. Is there something a new Christian like me can read and understand better? I really want to be able to grasp the Scriptures, but the KJV is a bit over my head.
Thanks

"And Jonathan made a covenant with David because he loved him as himself. Jonathan took off the robe he was wearing and gave it to David, along with his tunic, and even his sword, his bow and his belt." 1 Samuel 18:3-4 (NIV)

"After the boy had gone, David got up from the south side of the stone and bowed down before Jonathan three times, with is face to the ground. Then they kissed each other and wept together - but David wept the most." 1 Samuel 20:41 (NIV)

"...and they sadly shook hands, tears running down their cheeks until David could weep no more." 1 Samuel 20:41 (Living Bible)

I understand the true meaning of faith as believing in something when theres no evidence of it, but I am not capable of this. I do want to know God within me, but I cannot without an obvious sign that he's there. When I die, is he merciful enough to understand this and take me in, or will I go to hell anyway? Because his understanding is the only hope I have to get into heaven, if its really there. If the rapture ever really does happen, I will be left here. But I am willing to endure the horrific time after just to know hes really there. Of course, I would be a devout christian leader at that time. But until or any of this comes to light, I live on science and philosophy. If I die before it can be proven to me, does God have room for me?

Ignoring all the ark and animal logistics...
How could there have literally been a world wide flood that covered everything? I recently saw a Discovery Channel presentation in which a climatologist stated that there is simply not enough water in the atmosphere, the glaciers, the oceans, or the underground systems to flood the earth as claimed in the bible. Plus, if the world were covered in water and it was raining globally for 40 days; then the atmosphere wouldn't be breathable.

Even if you don't believe the above assertions there is one glaring fact: Plants provide our oxygen. If they were all under water, then how did Noah's family and the animals breathe?

Is there an explanation for all this that I've missed somewhere, or is it explained by just saying god performed a miracle. Because if the miracle thing is the only answer, then isn't that basically putting words in the bible's mouth? That doesn't sound like a very sound tactic for defense of biblical literalism.

They say the the 10 commandments were taken from the 42 laws of MAAT. I do not want to argue that point here I want to ask what you think is a stronger philosophy - I Shall Not or I Have Not? When you are standing in front of God on Judgment Day are you going to say I Shall Not or I Have Not (with confidence)? Seems like I shall not leaves room fr error. I Have not is straight forward with no room for deception! What do you think?
