I'm not saying that they are gay. All I am trying to show is the passagess that may regard homosexuality that people never seem to quote, for some reason.

Also, people didn't wear underwear back then, so he was actually naked.

Oh, I love how people are so close minded. I did not twist any passages. These are direct quotes from the Bible.

when i first read this in the Bible i thought that David and Jonathan were gay but then i remembered that in the old days men were aloud to kiss each other without being called gay. David and Jonathan simply loved each other as brothers. Jonathan gave the clothes off his back to David to show his loyalty and love for him so this scripture is not to be used as an exuse for gays.

That means they were very close, and have a great affection to each other. Nothing physical. If a girl, for instance, does love her mother a lot, does that mean she is lesbian and wants something physical with her? Of course not. The same with David and Jonathan.
Furthermore, David liked women a lot!!!, he even sinned with the beautiful wife of another man (and God told him that adultery was wrong). No homosexuality in David's life, because in other verses God said it was bad, and He would have told David that was wrong, too.

Homosexuality existed long before the bible chick.
Men use to have sex with little boys and it was thought of as a normal thing.
Homosexuality is occasionally found in the bible a numerous amount of times.
Now read the bs the C's are going to say about this.. like they just were friends, they just loved each other.. the truth is no one will never know what went down that day so they can't say nothing!

Very good question...
Very ignorant responses...
In my research and, ultimately, my opinion I understand that homosexuality or bisexuality was NOT a sin. However, sodomy and lust were. God created you the way He intended, and I'm sure that He knew what He was doing.
In a pre-emptive strike to the ignorant fools that would claim that Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because they were homosexual, you are WRONG.
Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed due to the amount of LUST, RAPE, AND SODOMY going on, NOT homosexuality.
And as far as the New Testament(Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Corinthians, Thessalonians, etc.) goes... I don't believe a word of it... Its history is so confusing and corrupted that it lacks ALL credibility. Also, the fact that NONE of it was written by Jesus(A.S.) himself, but instead by some Roman who 'converted' DOES put a damper on my likeliness to believe it. I believe in facts and reason. My faith and my judgement are based upon that.
The first rule of seeking knowledge is impartiality... So the next time you research something, don't begin with the idea that you already know something about it...
Seek knowledge. Knowledge is power; power is freedom; freedom is peace.
May Peace be upon you...

Would you ask the question if they had been women? They were closer than brothers and Jonathan knew David was going to be his king someday. They each realised the hurt that was coming because of Jonathan's father, the king.

1st - so a guy takes off his robe, belt and sword. Understand what the clothes were like then, for he was not naked after these items came off. Study the clothes and outfits.
2nd - just go to any country but USA and you will realize its common practice for men to kiss each other on the cheeks...some even on the lips. Does a male not have his grandpa kiss him when he is young in the USA? No different
3rd - Never seen two men cry?
I don't see how any of these relate to more than what they state. Homosexuality is CLEARLY mentioned in the book, it is not a hidden word.

...Unless I miss my guess, you are trying to use this passage, to try and justify homosexuality; you also wish to have us believe that David and Jonathan were involved in vile affections, and say that God approves of the homosexual lifestyle.
...Nice try, but you are incorrect. Scripture condemns homosexual behavior in many sections, but also gives hope to anyone who will turn from their sin, and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior. Observe, 1 Corinthians 6:
...9 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders
...10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
...11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved. (Acts 16:31)
...Whosoever will, may come.

This tells me that David and Johnathan had a close friendship, almost like brothers. Men in many cultures kiss, and it has absolutely nothing sexual to do with it. The bible is very straightforward, if David and Johnathan were gay, it would say so. Genesis 19:1-11

Ask a middle-eastern before you interpret this as sexual. Kisses on the cheek are normal greetigns to them and they can be very expressive of their love in a purely platonic way.
If there is a line that talks about specific sexual contact i.e. Noah's son then you have something to talk about.

1. He loved him as himself... that's friendship, stupid. he took his own clothes and gave him to David as a gift.
2. Culture differences... it's a middle east thing, they kiss as a friendly greeting.
3. that just is taken out of context...
idiot. Could you please actually read the bible instead of just taking quotes and twisting them to fit your pleasure?
Edit: yes you are twisting them! by taking it out of social, and biblical context and implying that there is homosexuality here. THERE ISN'T! There are differences culturally between our society, and that of a people who lived halfway around the world like 3000 years ago!
