I've been attending the same church for over a year now, and i've yet to join. I love the church, the members, and it is a place where I have had a tremendous growth, spiritually. During my time at this church, there have been three seperate instances where people who know nothing about me and don't know me, have told me that I should join the choir. The first time was during a service where we were singing along with the choir, and after church, the woman sitting next to me told me that she was in one of the choirs, she told me when they were having choir rehearsal, and she told me that I have a good voice and should join. The next time, another lady (entirely different) sitting beside me during service told me that she'd noticed my voice, and she also told me that I should join the choir. Then, the last time was this past Sunday, when I went to talk to one of my friends who is actually in the choir, and one of the choir members sitting beside her, told me that she could tell

What's the point of getting a clean slate if you can't use it to throw rocks at people?

I simply cannot understand why people are agitated over the Bible. If you look at the history, The words and believers of this book have been relentlessly attacked. But why? Why does every generation try to destroy something so innocent? Athiests mock it, but yet they don't understand it. Evolutionists concoct theories taken from the bible and twist it. And out of all religions, this one is the most persecuted. All it says is that you shouldn't worship "Idols." Meaning a statue of an animal or things of that nature. And to love one another, even your enemies. Now some will say "Because God and J.C." don't exist, but if you look at the archaelogical evidence and the locations, they prove he did. I just want to know your thoughts on this, but spare me your rhetoric, because I WILL answer back. And DON'T give me the crapola of "Well you started it first..." I'll slap yo' mama and rape yo' daddy! (LoL) No seriously folks.... =)

Malachi was written some 470 years B.C.(B.ce.) When Matthew 1:1 opens up, the Roman Empire is in control of Israel. I just want someone to tell me when that happened.

I was told once that I shouldnt start at the begining, I should start with the new testiment. I want to read the bible entirely, but how and where do I start? Also does it matter if its a King james version or new international version? I find that the king james version is kind of like trying to understand shakespeare. I dont really get it, so I prefer NIV.

Also - what's a good bible to get ?

Why are my fellow Christians bashing back???
Has 'turn the other cheek' been forgotten so easily? or 'Pray for your enemies'?
we are supposed to follow Jesus Christ's example, but almost every Christian's words that i've read are following the non-believer's example: they're bashing what they don't like or don't understand!
Bashing does nothing more than create more hard feelings and more hard hearts! When you reply to a question, simply state your facts, beliefs or opinions WITHOUT bashing what the other people believe! there is ne cause for you to do the same as everyone else. Have we all become clouds that follow the crowd?

why use an avatar mocking 'challenged' or 'retarded' people? mock my God if you like, but why the defenseless? Am I the only one turned off by this?

No better way to show yourself as a coward than to mock the downtrodden.

As I grow older and things get more and more clear, so does the world feel sometimes more and more disenchanted (like the opposite of enchanted). It's hard to word this - it's like some kind of meaningfulness slipping through my fingers and leaving a feel of overly known and familiar behind it.

Is this just me, or are things supposed to happen this way?...

My ten year old son in the past year or so has started professing that he does not believe in God. I don't think he's doing this to just push buttons. We're Episcopalians, so he has not have the whole ffire and brimstone theology shoved down his throat. I've tried talking with him logically about faith and religion but he still seems very adamant about not believing their a god. What should I do?

.......in denial of God? Why do atheists insist on proving that God doesn't exist and ignore the facts that surround the Bible? Why are Atheists lazy? Atheists mostly will say they don't serve God because they don't want to comply with Christian rules and don't want to be responsible for a god to worship. Why be so lazy?
