Well, most of the writings of/about H^3 that express this view (ie, the Kybalion) in this form are contemporary with Christianity- they existed at the same time-and they came about after Christianity had been around for a while. The cultus of the transformed Thoth contemporary with Christianity's foundations doesn't have that concept at all.

Compare that view (in the Kybalion) to the distinction between masculine and feminine in the Tabula Smaragdina- it's pretty clear H^3 is delegating male powers to one thing and feminine to another, and not androgyny to a whole.

I havent read much about Hermes yet but I've been trying to get away from Christian Gnosticism even though I still do read some of the stuff from St Thomas. Ive been sticking more to learning the very little that is known on Mithraism.

However you seem to be describing the balance of male and fem in one singularity is cool.

Hardly. In fact, different forms of gnosticism became the collective enemies of Christianity from the first century on. The person who presently claims to be Jesus pushes a form of gnosticism. Several of the so-called "gospels" written from the first through the fourth centuries were written by Gnostics. The foundation of Christian belief is Jesus Christ, crucified, dead, buried, and risen again as the perfect sacrifice for the sin of all mankind.

Probably not, but it's a wonderful question and I'm going to do some reading on him now. It's not often that I actually learn something on YA.
