Why are my fellow Christians bashing back???
Has 'turn the other cheek' been forgotten so easily? or 'Pray for your enemies'?
we are supposed to follow Jesus Christ's example, but almost every Christian's words that i've read are following the non-believer's example: they're bashing what they don't like or don't understand!
Bashing does nothing more than create more hard feelings and more hard hearts! When you reply to a question, simply state your facts, beliefs or opinions WITHOUT bashing what the other people believe! there is ne cause for you to do the same as everyone else. Have we all become clouds that follow the crowd?

Kim...sometimes we have just had enough of hate and abuse. I will pray for them, I will even try to love them...but I am not going to sit around and put up with crap that is meant to hurt. I promise not to physically hurt anyone. I have been here a long time, I have tried to be loving and kind and non-violent...it does not work. Its no wonder Christians through history have reached a point of saying...we have had enough.
Don't worry, I will be better tomorrow.

Some times you have to stand up for what you believe! Even if it seems like it is the unchristian thing to do, you have to draw the line somewhere. We are Christians yes, but we cannot give in and just let the people do as they wish without our two cents being put in. Call it want you want, but listen when I get pushed, I'll push back.
I am going to stand up for what I believe and let the world know that I won't back down!!!! WE are the people we need to start standing up for what we believe and let world know what is right and what we beleive.....

Because there comes a time when we have to stand up for what we believe. I am tired of the senseless, idiotic accusations and smart-aleck comments that are leveled against us. .. but even more importantly, against the Lord Jesus Christ Whom I love above all things. I will speak up when someone blasphemes Him or attacks my fellow Christians out of hatred and viciousness.
Saying what we believe isn't bashing. . .it's being honest and upfront. "Turn the other cheek" doesn't mean letting yourself be used as a doormat for people to wipe their feet on. We're supposed to have a ready answer for anything that's asked of us, and that answer usually isn't what the atheists or agnostics want to hear.
I try to respond according to what the Holy Spirit prompts, and there are many times that I have to go back and edit a post to remove my own sarcasm so that His light will shine through. But I will no longer sit by and allow my faith and my Savior to be bashed by those who are acting out of spite and malice.

Anger get the best of them (as it has for me at times) but they mean well. It is just that society has taught one thing (revenge) and the Bibles lessons are being forgotten.

Turn the other cheek is the stupidest idea ever. When someone bombs the US, the US bombs the country back (and even when the country doesn't bomb the US.) If you turn the other cheek, you're not going to live very long.

No bashing, just spreading the TRUTH.
A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another (John 13:34).
But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you (Luke 6:27-28).
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse (Romans 12:14).
We work hard with our own hands. When we are cursed, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it (1 Corinthians 4:12).
Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord. On the contrary: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head." Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good (Romans 12:17-21).
Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing (1 Peter 3:9).

I agree that "an eye for an eye, and the world goes blind" there is a difference between re-education and retribution.
