When I tried the Parker Brother's version of the board, it didn't work all that well. I really don't know if spirits would prefer to communicate through a mass produced Ouija board or a home made one. Guess you could try it and find out.

Unfortunately, yes, they often do. The problem is that you have no idea of what you can be getting yourself into when you use a Ouija board, planchette, or anything else designed to contact the "dead."

The spirit that you contact is actually demonic, one that knows enough about the deceased person to fool you into thinking that you've contacted your loved one. That, or else they spin an interesting story that gets you hooked on playing with the board. You open yourself up for many problems, ranging from depression, rage, unexplained and violent mood swings, to health problems, spiritual attacks and demonic manifestations.

I strongly discourage anyone from using Ouija boards or attempting to contact discarnate entities. You can end up opening a door to an unseen realm that will be very difficult to close.
