Now there's a good idea!

Why not? We've already changed it once to include "one nation under God..." as the original version didn't mention your god. Better yet, let's just eliminate it all together - if adults can't live that way (meaning with liberty and justice), how can we expect kids to?

And instead of changing the Pledge of Allegiance, shouldn't we be changing our kids? I'm more concerned about kids taking guns to school, having sex too soon, taking drugs, etc. than I am about changing the Pledge of Allegiance.

No. Not everyone who pledges to the flag believes in Jesus. I am a Christian and that applies to me, but there a lots of people in this country who pay their taxes who would be offended by that statement. They deserve representation also. Faith in Jesus is a personal choice and choosing not to have faith is just as personal.

Well, seeing as the Baptist minister who wrote the damn thing is DEAD, so people can add under god to it against his wishes without being sued, I think we can add anything else, too.

How about we sell naming rights to the pledge? If you have a failing school, just add "ipods" before for all, and apple will donate 3 million a year!

No. One Nation Under God should be taken out of our pledge and be replaced with the original One Nation Indivisible. Now that holds more power and strength.

how about "with liberty and Mohammad the prophet for all"? and we could put "in Cthulu we trust" on all of our coins. oh and how about if we put a copy of the ten commandments next to a statue of Isis in every single courthouse?

No, Jesus is dead. Since I don't think this is a joke, I will say you truly need to stop trying to force your religious cult on the laws of our country. We already have freedom of religion, you aren't persecuted in anyway, now keep your religion to yourself.

No. Because someone will sue the school districts that do so. Saying God is fine because every religion (except for Buddhism) has a God.

No. Liberty and religion are opposing concepts.

Oh, let's! Seeing as we are, after all, a "Christian country" that's "blessed by God".

Note the sarcasm.
