As I grow older and things get more and more clear, so does the world feel sometimes more and more disenchanted (like the opposite of enchanted). It's hard to word this - it's like some kind of meaningfulness slipping through my fingers and leaving a feel of overly known and familiar behind it.

Is this just me, or are things supposed to happen this way?...

My question had actually little to do with religion. I don't mean realizing that there is no God or such (was never truly a believer). It's just that (sometimes) everything is too - well, thingy.

Really? No, I had that for a couple of years between 26 and 29 or so but really, it is ******** (or so I feel now). There is plenty of magic in this world, even if it is not the fairy kind of magic.

If you really feel this 'overly known' thing to be real you should expand your horizons.

I am 16 and i sometimes feel the same way, but i have found out and decised that if i use every second of my life in such a way that i can squeez every once of what ever i can from it....at the end of my life, i will look back and i will say "im happy and at peace"

The important thing is to accept u r getting older and to do as much stuff as u can while u still can. lol

But there is also the God factor and i have found that with Jesus by my side, that feeling isnt so overwhelming as it is to some ppl i know who do not have a relationship with God. I enjoy my life, even tho it can be a bit depressing somethimes and so do my parents.

I feel this way at times too. I find it especially true during birthdays and holidays. The joy of these days has disappeared somewhat. Of course, there is the upside to growing up...new doors have opened for me (like traveling to places I've only imagined about seeing.)

It's temporary. Life is what you make of it and the meanings you ascribe to it. Get working on that and things will get better.

Well, yeah, basically life sucks. The more you learn about how this crappy world is run, the worse it is. The planet is doomed.

Welcome to planet earth. There's no Santa Clause, very little justice and nobody loves you for who you are. And if you had a happy childhood you were luckier than most.

Growing old is mandatory.

Growing up is optional.

Peace to you...
