It the bible is uncorruptable word of God and it says in the New testament the the old laws still apply, then why do christians choose? Do not say that the old rules were from another time, for God susposedly knows all and would forsee that they would not apply and put that in the bible, but he didn't.

So Cartman is frozen by our hero Butters. The 'unfreezers' find him in 2546, and well, of course, unfreeze him. Everyone witnessed what happens! Atheist killing atheist, and sea otters become atheists all because Mr.(s) Garrison gives up his/her unbelief in evolution and marries Richard Dawkins. Theism is destroyed!

We need each other - atheist / theist, don't you see!

Who thinks we need to just get along, and buy a Nintendo Wii? Can I have an amen!? - uhh, what do atheists say instead of 'amen' anyway?

(ok, so I stole the 'amen' thing from 'Sho-Nuff', it works here doesn't it?)

been living in Toronto for 6 months with my girlfriend. she made a new friend recently while waitressing who gave her number to my gal. my gal doesnt have too many friends here as were quite new to canada and gave her a call yesterday. they went out to a cafe. a few hours after my gal got back from being out her new friend called and waffled on for over an hour, i thought nothing of this as these are women we are talking about here. Today, she called again, i answered the phone , i told her my girl wasnt in but we had a chat and she seemed nice. but then she went on for quite a while about herself her life and how she just wants to help the world. she was quite repetetive + i didnt need to speak for her to continue talking.
she said stuff like 'i agree' a lot at the end of her own sentences about spirituality, and she said 'we' quite a lot. i managed to fairly subtley ask about what she believes and she quite promptly said she had to go and sleep. is she in a cult and should we help?

I dont understand this. This is an automatic judgement. I thought we understood, "thou shalll no judge". How about, "thanks Mr Dylan for taking you time to sing your wonderful songs in front of people who most likely opposed it.

I don't sit and worry about what was happening to me during the nothingness I was experiencing for the many, many, many, many centuries BEFORE i was born. It wasn't "scary" or "bad" or "frightening".

IT WAS NOTHINGNESS. It doesn't frighten me to think about the nothingness BEFORE i was born.

THAT SAME NOTHINGNESS doesn't frighten me after I die, either.

It is UNKNOWN.

Let's stop pretending that we KNOW what happens after death. WE DON'T. NOBODY DOES. Regardless what pretty picture that any unprovable cult myths might tell us.

Why do christian cultists and other cult groups want us to worry about what happens after we die? Their cult ideas are all unprovable, non-factual... Is it really just to get people into their cult and get their money?

How can this be when Jesus himself said faith without works is dead? How can one person who worked hard all their life with faith and following the teachings of Jesus to live a good, honest life while loving others, be lumped in with the person who declared Jesus as his saviour and then goes out and shoots 10 people? Sounds like an excuse to have your cake and eat it too, if nothing else. Christianity is following the teachings of Jesus, and he said works count too. How can that be disputed?

Why are Athiests in the Religion and Spirtuality area
If you don't believe in any religion or Godly spirituality
Why bother
I think that if your going to ask questions it would be to grow in your spirituality.
At least it would be nice to ask questions about God and not being told that I'm dumb for believing what I do.

Also If they don't want to be told they are wrong then stop asking stupid questions they really don't want honest answers to.

I know you will want to give me all crap for asking this.
But you would if I was asking a spiritual question anyway so give me the answer you want

I don't think that christians really believe everything they preach...... I think maybe if they really thought they were going to heaven they wouldn't judge (it says in the bible not to). I hate to tell you guys but if you want someone to take your point seriously it should be more than just words you say but actions you take (or don't as the case may be). Do you think maybe you're giving your whole religion a bad name by treating people like crap "in god's name"? What about the atheists? Do you think you would take a debate with these people more seriously if they weren't judging you every other second and trying to tell you how stupid you are??

If you don't believe in the hereafter, take part anyway, this is strictly for fun.

I am thinking that life would kind of be like Highlander. In essence, the survival of the fittest.
You would be kind to people, not because you "owe" it to them but because your survival needs others (self-serving I know, but necessary).

I am interested on your take on this. In your thiking, would you agree, disagree, add subtract details...

If we supposedly ned God to exist, why are there still Atheists and agnostics around? Why do animals seem to live an atheist life compared to humans who supposedly needs God to exist? Are animals free willed compared to us, they dont need to worry about heaven or hell or any other religious belief?
My personal opinion is that humans created God like any other religion and the rhetoric in order to challenge the critics into being submissive and less rebellious. The doctrines are baically fixed to adapt and criticize the critics as evil in order to have no competition or free thought. Its an ideology that basically forces people into believing and constantly provides non-logical counter arguments against anything that challenges it with truth, reality, and religious equality.
