Why are Athiests in the Religion and Spirtuality area
If you don't believe in any religion or Godly spirituality
Why bother
I think that if your going to ask questions it would be to grow in your spirituality.
At least it would be nice to ask questions about God and not being told that I'm dumb for believing what I do.

Also If they don't want to be told they are wrong then stop asking stupid questions they really don't want honest answers to.

I know you will want to give me all crap for asking this.
But you would if I was asking a spiritual question anyway so give me the answer you want

I'm not saying anyone has to agree with me
Just why do you bother if you don't want to know our opinion anyway?

By the way most of you are very rude no matter what question that's being asked

This question is asked most everyday. I say that this is a fine place for them to be. Most atheists and/or agnostics are so because they read and studied religion in the past. Just because they don't believe in deities (or your deity, as is the case with agnostics) does not mean that they don't find religion interesting.

Atheism *is* a religious and spiritual belief*, a belief about religion and spirituality, even if you dislike it.

It would be inappropriate to ask a physics question here, not an atheistic one.

Religion and Spirituality is not reserved for the folks you agree with!

*belief does not indicate a requirement for faith. Belief is merely the holding of opinions, which can be valid and based on evidence OR NOT.

Because there are spiritualities that do not involve a deity...
Because religion is a definite social phenomenon whether or not it is not founded on an objective truth. Definitely worth discussing even if I don't believe in it. Other people's beliefs can impinge upon my life. Drastically in some cases.

R&S is *part* of "society and culture."
Here on YA and in the broader world.

And you won't find me calling believers in God dumb. Check my answers.

I see that you have never bothered looking at the question index when you were asking this question. If so you would have seen how many times this question has been asked. I will tell you the same things that I have said to other people who have asked this question. Everybody has the right to be in this section as everybody has something to say when it comes to the subject of religion. Thanks I could go for a shot now.

Probably because no matter how many times I have requested, and I am sure others as well, Y!A will not create an Atheist & Agnostic section for us to use.

And, 2:00pm is a little early to start drinking. I'm still at work d@mmit!. It is going to be a long night.

Erm.

You ask questions to grow in your spirituality. I ask questions to grow in my understanding of how religious people think and function.

I would love it if I got honest answers to my questions from Christians. All I've gotten are stories that they make up about atheists. Well, there was one today that was real.

Your last lines there are bitter and nasty. You do not know what I want. You cannot know what I want. So don't tell me that you do. That's not giving you crap, that's calling you on yours.

*drink* again, I maintain that this is by far THE most asked question in this category.
This is not the Religion and GODLY Spirituality section.. there are plenty of religious and spiritual people who don't buy into your christian version of god. Honestly, the absolute arrogance of this question is insulting to all of us.
They have as much right to be here (if not more, since they participate more than most "believers" by asking the tough questions) as you do.

Why couldn't you have read the other bajillion times we've answered this? The answers are going to be the same.

We're here because we want to be and because we have an interest in religion and spirituality. I don't particularly care that the theists think that they should own this board, I go to the places I am interested in going.

We are answering because you are asking. Some of the most religious answerers here are actually atheist trolls. Be careful you dont get your toes bit.
